APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting November 18, 2016 8:30 AM
Chair Ostness asked the Council if there were any corrections to the minutes from the
November 18, 2016. Chair Ostness approved the minutes.
RESULT: ACCEPTED

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. New Richmond, River Falls, Woodville, and Glenwood City Nutrition Program
Presentations
The Nutrition Program Managers from River Falls, Woodville, Glenwood City and New
Richmond provide the Council with details on activities and events that took place in the
past year at their respective Senior Center.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period Recap
Liza Gibson and Mike Traynor, ADRC Elder Benefit Specialists, reported to the Council
on the recent Medicare Open Enrollment that ended December 7. Many of the plans
changed and when the Medicare website has a nice tool to assist in finding drug coverage
for an individual. Individuals were given the option to either meet face-to-face with an
Elder Benefit Specialist or have the plan review mailed to them.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Financial Reports
Dr. Beata Haug reviewed the October 2016 Financial reports with the Council members.
The revenue and expenses look to be in line for the year. She informed the Council that
the Nutrition Trust account dollars have been depleted and any overage was applied to
the operating cost for Congregate Nutrition.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. The Lutheran Home: River Falls Skilled Nursing Facility Planned Closure
The Lutheran Home of River Falls provided notice to the state of Wisconsin of their
closure in February 2017. The ADRC of St. Croix County Information and Assistance
Specialists will be assisting individuals who are in need of help transition from the
nursing home to assisted living. The closure of The Lutheran will not effect the
operations at Wellhaven or the River Falls Senior Center.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet
Council members reviewed the November 2016 Information & Assistance Update Sheet.
There were a total of three enrollments into ContinurUs and one disenrollment; there
were six enrollments into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollments; there were six
enrollements into IRIS and two disenrollments.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests
There were no transportation requests for the upcoming month.

7. 2017 Aging and Disability Resource Center events & Council on Aging and Disabilities
meeting dates
Council members received and reviewed the upcoming events and meeting schedule in
2017.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
8. United Way - St. Croix County Employee Campaign
Beckman reported the results of the United Way - St. Croix County employee campaign.
The 2016 donations surpassed last year's total. The United Way provides grant dollars to
the Adult Day Respite Program - DayAway, the Senior Center Board Coalition, and
Aging & Handicapped, Inc.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
