APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. May 12, 2017 8:30 AM Chair Ostness asked the Council if there were any corrections to the minutes from the May 12, 2017 meeting. There were none noted, the minutes stand as written per the Council Chair Ostness. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Council Chair Ostness opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Introduction of New County Human Resources Director Tarra Davies-Fox Tarra Davies-Fox, the Human Resources Director, introduced herself to the Council members. She spoke about her past work history and how her department works with the ADRC. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. St. Croix County Volunteer Application Tarra spoke on the Volunteer Application Packet. She informed the Council that the application has been shortened. The remainder of the packet that included the Ethics and Boundaries/Confidentiality and the Background Check forms will be reviewed and maybe combined. The Hold Harmless piece of the packet was removed. The ADRC staff have reached out to those current volunteers that did not complete the original packet. It was explained that staff are not able to volunteer for the same position they are paid for. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. St. Croix County Transit Planning Study Chair Ostness provided the Council members with a handout regarding the Transit Feasibility Study Executive Summary and an article that was in the Hudson Star Observer. Chair Ostness reviewed the fixed routes being looked at throughout the county. There have been conversations with Twin Cities Metro Transit, local chambers, and businesses. Council members were informed to reach out to Chair Ostness, Supervisor Anderson or other members of the Transit Subcommittee. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members reviewed the May 2017 Informatin & Assistance Update Sheet. There were four enrollments into Community Link and four disenrollments; there were eight enrollments into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollments; there were four enrollments into IRIS and one disenrollment. The Information and Assistance Specialist, in conjuction with the Dementia Care Specialist, have completed Memory Screens at the Senior Nutrition Sites. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There were a few out of county or beyond hours of operation requests related to the ulceration of the ADRC/Aging fleet vehicles. July 1 - Glenwood City to Amery July 8 - Glenwood City to St. Paul July 30 - Glenwood City to Red Wing A motion to approve the requests was made by Council member Schreiber; seconded by Supervisor Anderson; motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: James Schreiber, Vice Chair SECONDER: Paulette Anderson, Supervisor AYES: Dave Ostness, Paulette Anderson, Mary Ellen Brue, Virginia Drath, Patricia Jonas, Laurie Pelnar, James Schreiber, George Zaske EXCUSED: Jerry Adams, Ron Kiesler, Alfred Schrank REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Aging Unit Plan Evaluation Living Wage Ordinance Trends related to Center Based Employment ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Council members were given nomination forms for the Outstanding Older Adults. Winners will be announced Friday, July 22 at the St. Croix County Fair. The Orchard View Terrace will be holding an open house on July 20. The Center for Independent Living - New Freedom Transportation program recieved a grant to purchase two handicapped accessible vehicles. Beckman read a thank you from a participant's loved one regarding Stephanie Koski, Manager of the DayAway Adult Day Respite Program.
