APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. November 10, 2017 8:30 AM Chair Ostness asked if there were any additions or corrections that needed to be made to the minutes from November 10, 2017. Since there were none notes, Chair Ostness stated the minutes will stand as written. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Adult Protective Services Presentation Bonnie Edlund and Jo Anne Friedell introduced themselves to the Council and provided their employment history. They provided statistics regarding the number of Adult Protection referrals made since 2008. The number of referrals have increased over the years and with a redesign of the current unit in the past year has decreased slightly. They work closely with the staff within the ADRC as well as many other Health and Human Services units. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Financial Reports Dr. Haug reported the reports remain in line with the budget. The ADRC revenue is still low due to timing of claims, but otherwise look in line with the projections for the year. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Nutrition Advisory Council December Meeting Review The most recent meeting was held in Hudson earlier in the week. The Nutrition Advisory Council reviewed the 3rd quarter statistics, discussed the Home-delivered meal program trends, the offsite visit to a Pierce County restaurant model, and the other topics on the agenda. The next meeting will be held on February 14, 2018 in Baldwin. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members reviewed the November 2017 Information & Assistance Update Sheet. In the month of November there were four enrollments into Inclusa and one disenrollment; there were two enrollments into Care Wisconsin and one disenrollment; there was one enrollment into IRIS and one disenrollment. The number of calls tend to increase during the holiday season when family visit their loved ones. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There were no out of county and weekend Senior Center Transportation requests. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. 2018 Aging and Disability Resource Center events & Council on Aging and Disabilities meeting dates Council members were provided with a handout laying out the events that the ADRC will be hosting or involved in throughout 2018. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Some topics that were mentioned by Council member for future agenda items were a presentation by the Managed Care Organization; discussion on the shortage of personal care workers; information on depression and services for individuals. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Beckman informed the Council the ADRC staff provided an orientation to new Council member Maureen Brunner and Patricia Jonas. He also announce that the new part-time Disability Benefit Specialist, Laruel Feldt, started on Monday, December 4. Beckman highlighted the Virtual Dementia Tour that was held early November in Hudson. An article was in the local newspaper and WCCO was present and ran a story. Chair Ostness provided the Council members with a copy of the power point that was presented at the County Board meeting earlier in the week regarding the Transit subcommittee. ADJOURN Meeting was adjourned at 9:41 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next meeting for the Council will be held on January 12, 2018
