APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. January 12, 2018 8:30 AM Chair Ostness asked if there were any additions or corrections that needed to be made to the minutes from January 12, 2018. Since there were none noted, Chair Ostness stated the minutes will stand as written. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix County Presentation Mary Steele, Coordinator of Pierce/St. Croix Counties Free Clinic, provided the Council with an overview of the program. The Clinic began in 2006 when reviewing what could be done in the area to assist people with getting health services. A steering committee was formed with members of the community, not just the health care field, to look at funding and logistics for the clinic. In April 2007, the clinic doors opened. Eligibility for consumers would be residents of Pierce or St. Croix Counties, uninsured, under the poverty guidelines, and within the scope of service. The clinic is located within the Vibrant Health facility in River Falls and held one night a week. In 2017, there were 1,038 patient visits, 39% were Pierce County residents and 61% were St. Croix County residents. Funding is received through grants, donations, and an annual fundraising event. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. 2017 Aging Unit Plan Self-Assessment Tracy Davis, Community Services Coordinator, presented a power presentation on the 2017 Aging Unit Plan Self Assessment. Council members were given a copy of the whole Self Assessment in their packets. A motion was made to accept the 2017 Aging Unite Plan Self-Assessment was made by Council member Schrieber and seconded by Council member Schrank; motion carried. Supported Decision-Making Legislation Senate Bill 552 And Assembly Bill 655 Council member Zaske provided the Council with an update regarding the Supported Decision-Making Legislation. He stated it is looking good and is moving quickly. Hopefully more information can be shared next month. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Fourth Quarter Aging and Disability Resource Center 2017 Year-End Financial Projection Report Dr. Beata Haug provided the Council members with the projected 2017 year to date totals. The report shows both Aging and ADRC did well in the year. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports Council members reviewed the January 2018 Financial reports. The activity is minimal since many expenses go back in the previous year. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Nutrition Advisory Council February Meeting Review Beckman provided the Council with a synapses of the most recent Nutrition Advisory Council (NAC) meeting. The NAC has been discussing what the future of the Elderly Nutrition Program will look at. Hopefully in May, the NAC will bring forth a recommendation to be presented at the June Council meeting. RESULT: DISCUSSED 7. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members reviewed the January and February Information and Assistance Update Sheet. In the month of January there were three enrollments into Inclusa and four disenrollments; there were two enrollments into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollments; there was one enrollment into IRIS and no disenrollments. In the month of February there were five enrollments into Inclusa and two disenrollments; there were two enrollment into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollments; there were four enrollments into IRIS and one disenrollment. RESULT: DISCUSSED 8. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There were two transportation requests presented to the Council for approval. Hudson to Stillwater on April 6 and Hudson to St. Croix Falls on April 27. A motion was made to approve the requests by Council member Pelnar; seconded by Council member Schreiber; motion carried. Aging and Disability Resource Center Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon Council members were told to save the date for the upcoming luncheon Friday, May 4. Invitations will mailed out directly to volunteers, board members, and staff. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Beckman read a thank yous from AARP Tax Assistance participant, a recipient of the Love Bags from Valentine's Day; and a couple of other consumers. Beckman shared an article from the Glenwood City Tribune regarding the new Nutrition Program Manager. ADJOURN Chair Ostness adjourned the meeting at 10:28 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 13, 2018.
