APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. March 9, 2018 8:30 AM Chair Ostness asked if there were any additions or corrections that need to be made to the minutes from March 9, 2018. Since there were none noted, Chair Ostness stated the minutes will stand as written. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT The meeting was open to public comment for items on or off the agenda by Chair Ostness. There was no public commented presented. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Recognition of outgoing Council on Aging & Disabilities Chair Dave Ostness Beckman recognized Dave Ostness for his years of service on the Council. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Addendum to 85.21 Specialized Transportation Contract with Center for Independent Living of Western Wisconsin, Inc Denise Larson, Transportation Coordinator Center for Independent Western Wisconsin (CIL), she discussed the current services provided and the counties they currently work with. She provided the Council members with details on how the transportation program would work for the clients and volunteer drivers. The ADRC has scheduled an orientation with the current ADRC Medical Transportation Volunteers and CIL. A motion to approve the transition of the volunteer medical transportation program and funding to the Center for Independent Living effective June 1, 2018 was made by Supervisor Coulter; seconded by Council member Brue; motion carried. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports Dr. Haug presented the February expense report for ADRC and Aging. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Aging and Disability Resource Center Aiming for Excellence Change Team Project Survey Results Beckman provided the Council with the result from the survey results from 2017. The surveys are part of the ADRC Welcome packets provided to all consumers who walk into the ADRC, have a home visit or are new to the ADRC. Annually, the state requires an Aim Project or Lean Project to me completed by all ADRCs that focuses on specific categories set forth by the state. The ADRC has started working in the AIM project for 2018 already. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council reviewed the March Information and Assistance Update Sheet. In the month of March, there were two enrollments into Inclusa and four disenrollments; there were three enrollments into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollments; there were two enrollments into IRIS and no disenrollments. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There were five transportation requests presented to the Council for approval. April 15 - Glenwood City to Spring Valley April 22 - Hudson to Spring Valley April 22 - River Falls to Spring Valley April 27 - Hudson to Eagan, MN June 5 - Glenwood City to Eau Claire A motion was made to approve the requests by Council member Schrank; and seconded by Council member Pelnar; motion carried. Aging and Disability Resource Center Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon Beckman informed the Council that he upcoming Aging and Disability Resource Center Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon will be held on Friday, May 4 at Ready Randy's. Council members were encouraged to call in their reservation if they have not already. RESULT: DISCUSSED 8. 2018 Annual St. Croix County Senior Citizen's Picnic Beckman informed the Council, the upcoming Annual Countywide Senior Picnic will be held on Friday, June 15 at the Roberts Park Building. There will be more information provided at a later date. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council member Brue would like to have NAMI speak. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Beckman read thank yous from clients who worked with Tara Murdzek, Caregiver Support Coordinator and Nancy Abrahamson, Dementia Care Specialist. Beckman informed the Council that the AARP Tax Assistance volunteers prepared 550 tax forms from February to April 9 this year. Beckman informed the Council that Tara Murdzek, Caregiver Support Coordinator, started a collaboration with Hudson Hospital to host and lead the Stepping On classes and a new collaboration will start with Westfields Hospital to do the same.
