APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. April 13, 2018 8:30 AM Council on Aging and Disabilities Convener James Schreiber asked if there were any corrections, additions or deletions for the minutes. With none noted a motion was made to approve to minutes by Council Member Schrank and seconded by Council member Drath. A voice vote was taken and the minutes from April 13, 2018 meeting were approved. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Election of Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Council on Aging and Disabilities (COAD) Convener, Council member Schreiber, asked for nominations for COAD Chair. Council member Schreiber nominated Supervisor Paulette Anderson. No other nominations were made and a voice vote was taken. The election of Paulette Anderson as COAD Chair was approved. Election of Council on Aging and Disabilities Vice Chair Council on Aging and Disabilities (COAD) Convener, Council member Schreiber, asked for nominations for COAD Vice Chair. Supervisor Anderson nominated Council member Jim Schreiber. No other nominations were made and a voice vote was taken. The election of Jim Schreiber as COAD Vice Chair was approved. Establish Meeting Schedule of the Council on Aging and Disabilities The newest Council members were informed that the currently meet schedule is the second Friday of every month at 8:30 a.m. in New Richmond with the exception of February and July. After discussion is was determined the Council will continue to meet on those days starting in August. The June Council will meet on Wednesday, June 13 at 4 p.m. in Hudson at the Government Center prior to the Health and Human Services/Council on Aging and Disabilities joint public hearing meeting at 5 p.m. There will be no meeting in July due to the County Fair. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. West Central Wisconsin Community Action Agency Presentation Peter Kilde, West CAP Executive Director, provided the Council with an overview of the programs provided and service area. He reviewed the United Way 2014 ALICE Report and 2016 Executive Summary. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Presentation of the 2017 Health and Human Services Annual Report Johnson presented the 2017 Health and Human Services Annual Report and mentioned specifics highlights for each unit. Beckman highlighted the ADRC information. There was discussion on the report. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members reviewed the April Information and Assistance Update Sheet. In the month of April, there were four enrollments into Inclusa and no disenrollments; there were no enrollments into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollments; there were three into IRIS and no disenrollments. RESULT: DISCUSSED 7. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There were three transportation requests presented to the Council for approval. May 18 - Hudson to Stillwater June 1 - Hudson to Scandia June 22 - Hudson to St. Paul A motion was made to approve the requests by Council member Zaske; and seconded by Council member Schrank; motion carried. Aging and Disability Resource Center Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon - Recap Council members provided feedback regarding the day's event. They enjoyed the New Richmond High School Orchestra for entertainment and the meal. Overall, they felt the day was pleasant and enjoyable. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council member Brue would like to have a presentation from NAMI to discuss depression. The ADRC has started working on the 2019-2021 Aging Unit Plan, so once that has been submitted it will be reviewed by the Council. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Beckman announced that interviews were held for the Lead Community Services Coordinator and an offer has been made. We are waiting for confirmation and a start date from the candidate. The Annual Countywide Tournament ended Wednesday, May 9 and the winner will be announced at the Countywide Senior Picnic on June 15. Beckman provided the Council with cards regarding the Music in the Park. Beckman read thank yous from consumers. ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 10:18 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING Wednesday, June 13 at 4 p.m. in the County Board Room of the St. Croix County Government Center in Hudson.
