APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. June 13, 2018 4:00 PM
Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Anderson asked if there were any corrections, additions
or deletions for the minutes. There were none noted, so the minutes will stand as presented.
RESULT: ACCEPTED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Anderson asked if there was any public comment
regarding anything on or off the agenda. Seeing there was none, Anderson closed the floor for
public comment.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Approval of Employment Trends & Issues for Individuals with Disabilities Subcommittee May
11, 2018 Meeting Minutes
Council members receive copies of the minutes from the May 11, 2018 Employment
Trends & Issues for Individuals with Disabilities Subcommittee. Since the
Subcommittee is no longer meeting, the minutes need to be approved by the parent
committee. A motion was made by Council member Zaske and seconded by Council
member Pelnar to approve the minutes. A voice vote was taken and the minutes
from the May 11, 2018 meeting were approved.

2. Introduction of the New Community Services Coordinator
Beckman introduced Amy Roemhild as the new Community Services Coordinator to the
Council. Roemhild provided the Council with information on her background and what
she has been working on since she started on June 18, 2018.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Recoginition of the Aging and Disability Resource Center 10 Year Anniversary
Beckman informed the Council that the ADRC opened it doors ten years ago on August
1, 2008. He provided the Council members with a quick snap shot of services over the
years and statistics. Johnson spoke on how hard the County worked uring the transition
time and with the transition the County's financial obligation to the state has decreased.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. Nutrition Advisory Council Report
Council member Brunner, who is the Chair of the Nutrition Advisory Council (NAC),
provided Council members with a recap from the most recent Nutrition Advisory Council.
At the August NAC meeting, members heard from New Horizon Foods, current vendor at
the St. Croix County Health Center. The presentation laid out the current services they
provide and what it may look like if they were to provide meals to the sites that currently
receive meals through the Deer Park and Woodville cooking kitchens. NAC members
were able to ask questions and review a current menu. Since the meeting was held at
the St. Croix County Health Center, NAC members were able to dine at the location and
try the food. During the October NAC meeting, the members will be making a
recommendation to the Council on Aging and Disabilities regarding the Elderly Nutrition
Program.
NAC members also discussed the need for more volunteers to assist in delivering meals
in Hudson, River Falls, and New Richmond. An update was provided on the staffing
needs at the Senior Nutrition Sites and suggestions from participants were shared.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 3 in River Falls.

5. Home Delivered and Congregate Meal Six Month Statistics for 2018
Beckman reviewed the Home-Delivered and Congregate Meal Six Month Statistics for
2018 handout with the Council members. Beckman noted that some of the decrease for
the Congregate dining could be related to the weather closures and closures due to
voting.

6. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports
Dr. Haug reviewed the ADRC Financial Reports for July 2018.

7. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet
Council members reviewed the May and June Information and Assistance Update Sheets.
In the month of May, there were four enrollments into Inclusa and one disenrollment;
there were two enrollments into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollment; there were two
enrollments into IRIS and no disenrollments. In the month of June, there were seven into
Inclusa and one disenrollment; there were three enrollments into Care Wisconsin and no
disenrollments; there were two enrollments into IRSI and no disenrollments.
St. Croix Central School District will be hosting an event regarding Youth in Transition
that the Information & Assistance Specialist will be part of.

8. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests
There were multiple transportation requests presented to the Council for approval.
August 10: Hudson to St. Paul
August 17: Hudson to River Falls
August 19: Woodville to Osceola
September 21: Hudson to Stillwater
September 27: Woodville and Glenwood City to Durand
A motion was made to approve the requests by Council member Schrank; and
seconded by Council member Brue; motion carried.

9. Aging and Disability Resource Center St. Croix County Fair Report
Beckman provided the Council with wrap up details from the fair. All five Outstanding
Older Award Nominees were recognized on Friday, July 20. Many of the Senior Center
Boards were able to raise money through the Silent Auction held in the Senior Citizens
Building during the fair. The monies raised through the sale of water, juice and popcorn
will be given to the Senior Center Board Coalition to help cover some of the cost for
special events.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Chair Anderson asked if anyone had any requests for future agenda items. Some suggestions
were an update on Personal Care worke; Workforce update; additional information on TCC
Commission that was discussed during the Human Services Transportation Coordination Plan
meeting in June; update on the transition of the Volunteer Medical Transportation program;
presentation by NAMI; and review of the 2019-2021 Aging Unit Plan.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Beckman read a thank you from a consumer. Beckman informed the Council that the Elder and
Disability Benefit Specialists j ust completed the Medicare 101 seminars at Hudson Hospital
and Westfields Hospital. Information was share regarding the upcoming Annual Caregiver
Conference in September at WITC in New Richmond.
Council member Pelnar shared that People First St. Croix County will be having a
transportation meeting in Hudson on August 23 at 6 p.m.
