APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. November 9, 2018 8:30 AM Council and Aging and Disabilities Chair Anderson asked if there were any corrections, additions or deletions for the minutes. Since none were noted, the minutes will stand as written. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Council Chair Anderson opened the floor for public comment. There was no public presented. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Presentation on Opioid Abuse in St. Croix County Kristen DePrey, AODA Supervisor Behavioral Health, presented information regarding Opioid Abuse in St. Croix County. DePrey provided the Council with a power point on what are opioids, side affects, withdrawal, and statistics within the nation and St. Croix County. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Aging and Disability Resource Center Statewide Customer Survey in 2018 Beckman reviewed the ADRC of St. Croix County 2018 Customer Satisfaction Report. There was discussion on the results and how well St. Croix County is doing regarding services and customer satisfaction. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports Dr. Haug reviewed the Financial Report November 2018 for Aging and ADRC. When looking at the report, the revenue and expenses are on track. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members reviewed the November 2018 Information & Assistance report. In the month of November, there were six enrollments into Inclusa and one disenrollment; there were two enrollments into Care WI and no disenrollments; there were three enrollments into IRIS-TMG and one disenrollment; there was one enrollment into IRIS- Connections and no disenrollments. In October, IRIS-Connections was added as another option for consumers under the umbrella of IRIS. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There was only one Out of County/Weekend Transportation request presented for approval: January 4: Hudson to Oakdale A motion to approve the request was made by Council member Schrank and seconded by Council member Brue; motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Mary Ellen Brue, Alfred Schrank AYES: Tammy Moothedan, Bob Feidler, Paulette Anderson, Mary Ellen Brue, Virginia Drath, Laurie Pelnar, Alfred Schrank, James Schreiber, George Zaske EXCUSED: Maureen Brunner 6. 2019 Aging and Disability Resource Center events & Council on Aging and Disabilities meeting dates Beckman provided the Council members with the 2019 calendar of events for the ADRC including the Council on Aging and Disabilities meetings. RESULT: DISCUSSED 7. Mobile Food Pantry - United Way St. Croix Valley Beckman informed the Council the United Way of St. Croix Valley purchased a van to provide a Mobile Food Pantry. The Deer Park Senior Center is where it will be piloted since there is no grocery or convenience store in the town. It will start on December 27 and run from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. The program is open to any one regardless of age, income or residency. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council Chair Anderson asked if anyone had any requests for future agenda items. Some suggestions were inviting Sheriff Knutson and St. Croix County Medical Examiner Schattner to present on suicide rate and meth in St. Croix County; invite representatives from IRIS-TMG or IRIS-Connections to explain the programs offered to consumers; discuss the ADRC funding allocation methodology. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Beckman informed the Council that Medicare Part D open enrollment just ended on December 6 and the Benefit Specialists were busy assisting consumers. He mentioned that Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Inc reached out to all Aging units regarding additional funds available. ADRC applied for the $1,300 grant to assist in paying for Home- delivered meal equipment and are awaiting their decision. The Alzheimer's Memory Walk that was held in September of 2018 raised over $90,000. Beckman informed the Council the Disability Benefit Specialist staff just completed their annual review with their program attorney. He highlighted a couple of areas of the review with the Council. Beckman read thank yous from a couple of agency who received training by the Dementia Care Specialists.
