APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. January 11, 2019 8:30 AM
Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Anderson asked if there were any corrections, additions,
or deletions for the minutes. A motion to approve the January 11, 2019 minutes was made by
Supervisor Moothedan; seconded by Council member Drath; motion carried.
RESULT: ACCEPTED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Council Chair Anderson opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment
presented.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Presentation on Opioid Abuse and Suicide in St. Croix County
Sheriff Knudson and Chief Deputy Medical Examiner Stacken spoke to the Council
regarding opioid abuse and suicide within St. Croix County. Sheriff Knudson shared
suicide statistics in the elderly population. There was discussion on how prescription
drugs can safely be disposed of. Sheriff Knudson informed the Council there will be a
Take Back Day on April 26th. On that day individuals can bring their expired or no
longer needed prescriptions to their local police department or the St. Croix County
Sheriff's office and dispose of them.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. 2019 Department of Health and Human Services-Delivery of Service Plan
Council members reviewed the 2019 Department on Health and Human Services -
Delivery of Service Plan. Health and Human Services Director Fred Johnson highlighted
the updates for 2019 and areas specific to the Aging and Disability Resource Center.
Discussion followed.
A motion to approve the 2019 Department on Health and Human Services - Delivery of
Service Plan as submitted was made by Council member Schreiber and seconded by
Council member Brue. A voice vote was taken, all members present approved.

3. 2018 Aging Unit Plan Self-Assessment
Council members reviewed the 2018 Aging Unit Plan Self-Assessment. ADRC
Administrator Beckman highlighted some sections of the assessments. Discussion
followed.
A motion to approve the 2018 Aging Unit Plan Self-Assessment as submitted was made
by Council member Schrank and seconded by Council member Brunner. A voice vote
was taken, all members present approved.

4. Aging and Disability Resource Center 2018 Year-End Financial Projection Report
Council member reviewed the 2018 Year-End Financial Projection report. Health and
Human Services Fiscal Manager Dr. Haug answered any questions the Council members
had.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports
Council member reviewed the Financial Report for February 2019. Health and Human
Services Fiscal Manager Dr. Haug answered any questions the Council members had.
She noted that the Levy monies will be entered on a monthly basis.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet
Council members reviewed the January 2019 and February 2019 Information &
Assistance reports. Within those two months there were six enrollments into Inclusa and
four disenrollment; there was one enrollment into Care Wisconsin and no disenrollments;
there were three enrollments into IRIS-TMG and no disrenrollments; there were no
enrollments or disenrollments into IRIS-Connections or IRIS-Consumer Direct.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
7. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests
There was one Out of County/Weekend Transportation request presented for approval:
April 5: Hudson to Stillwater
A motion to approve the requests was made by Supervisor Moothedan; seconded by
Council member Schrank; motion carried.

8. Aging and Disability Resource Center Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon
Council members were informed the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon will be held on
Friday, May 3 at Ready Randy's in New Richmond. Council members will receive invites
and will need to RSVP by calling the office.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Council Chair Anderson asked is anyone had any requests for future agenda items. Some
suggestions were issues effecting the elderly in the future, presentation by I Respect I Self-Direct
(IRIS), information on how medication can be collected, Adult Protective Services and Dementia
Care Specialist initiatives.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
The Medicare 101 session held on March 5 was well attended in both Hudson and New
Richmond. These sessions are held three times a year and the ADRC Benefit Specialists
present. Council members were given a flyer regarding the Marty Schreiber event on Friday,
March 29. Beckman mentioned the AARP Tax Assistance Program is going well and will
continue into April. Beckman announced Aging Advocacy Day will be May 14 in Madison.
The Mobile Food Pantry through United Way in Deer Park is going over really well. The
Annual Card Tournament will be starting this month
Beckman read correspondences from consumers who worked with the Dementia Care
Specialist.
ADJOURN
A motion to adjourn was made by Council member Brue and seconded by Council member
Schrank; motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 10:28 a.m.
