APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting March 8, 2019 8:30 AM Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Anderson asked if there were any corrections, additions, or deletions for the minutes. A motion to approve the March 8, 2019 minutes was made by Council member Schrank; seconded by Council member Brue; motion carried. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Council Chair Anderson opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment presented. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Recognition of outgoing Council on Aging & Disabilities Member Laurie Pelnar Laurie was not able to attend the meeting, so she will be recognized at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon in May. She has been a strong advocate while on the Council during her 6 years of service. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Presentation by I Respect Self Direct (IRIS) TMG - Self-Directed Long Term Care Option Amy Swanson, IRIS Consultant Supervisor and Jessica Freeman, IRIS Consultant spoke to the Council regarding the operations specific to IRIS-TMG. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Community Options Program Report Health and Human Services Director Johnson provided background surrounding the Community Options Program Report. Behavioral Health Supervisor Kathy Huston reviewed the handout provided to the Council. The handout provides detail on the programming and utilization of the dollars. In 2018, St. Croix County was able to provide services to 25 individuals with dollars allocated to the program. There was discussion. A motion to accept the 2018 report was made by Supervisor Moothedan; seconded by Council member Zaske; motion carried. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports Health and Human Service Director Johnson reviewed the March 2019 Financial Report. Johnson mentioned all items look to be in line. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Presentation by Aging and Disability Resource Center Information & Assistance Specialist/Options Counselors Information & Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Sheila Fallon provided Council with information regarding the role of an Information & Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor. They assist consumers with information regarding housing, services available in St. Croix County, administer the Long Term Care Functional screen for enrollment into Family Care programs, and assist with Youth in Transition. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members reviewed the March 2019 Information & Assistance report. Within the month of March, there were five enrollments into Inclusa and no disenrollments; there were no enrollments or disenrollments for Care Wisconsin, IRIS-Connections or IRIS- Consumer Direct; there were no enrollments into IRIS-TMG and one disenrollment. RESULT: DISCUSSED 7. 2018 Aging Unit Plan Self-Assessment Letter of Review Council members received a copy of a letter from Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Inc. The letter provided feedback to the Aging and Disability Resource Center regarding the 2018 Aging Unit Plan Self-Assessment that was submitted on March 15, 2019. RESULT: DISCUSSED 8. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There were multiple Out of County/Weekend requests presented for approval: April 19: Hudson to St. Paul May 3: Hudson to St. Paul May 5: River Falls to Bloomington May 24: New Richmond to Como Park A motion to approve the requests was made by Council member Brunner; seconded by Council member Schrank; motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Maureen Brunner, Council member SECONDER: Alfred Schrank, Council member AYES: Tammy Moothedan, Bob Feidler, Paulette Anderson, Mary Ellen Brue, Maureen Brunner, Virginia Drath, Alfred Schrank, James Schreiber, George Zaske, Bonnie Richert EXCUSED: Laurie Pelnar 9. 2019 Annual St. Croix County Senior Citizen's Picnic Council members received a flyer regarding the upcoming Countywide Senior Picnic that will be held on Friday, June 21 at the Roberts Park Building from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. The annual event will have entertainment and a picnic style meal. A free will donation will be collected at the door for the meal. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council Chair Anderson asked is anyone had any requests for future agenda items. A couple of the suggestions were to have the Disability Benefit Specialists and Dementia Care Specialist provide information on their respective programs. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Council members received flyers for the upcoming Spring Fling at the New Richmond Senior Center, Lunch and Learn Meetings in Baldwin as part of the 2019-2023 Aging Unit Plan. Council members also received nomination form for Outstanding Older Adult. The Mobile Food Pantry in Deer Park is going over well and this month the United Way received an excess of oranges that were distributed at each of the Senior Center. ADJOURN The Council meeting was adjourned at 10:24 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting is Friday, May 10, 2019
