Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting November 8, 2019 8:30 AM Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Anderson asked if there were any corrections, additions, or deletions to the minutes. A motion to approve the November 8, 2019 minutes was made by Council member Schrank; seconded by Council member Brunner; ,motion carried. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Recognition of Nancy Abrahamson, Dementia Care Specialist Council Chair Anderson presented Nancy Abrahamson with a gift from the Council. Beckman, ADRC Adminstrator, presented Nancy with a certificate of Appreciation and read a . Senator Schatchner presented Nancy with a plaque from the State of Wisconsin recognizing her years of service. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Consideration of Revised Suspension of Transportation Services Policy Amy Roemhild, ADRC Community Services Coordinator, informed the Council members that the policy that was reviewed and approved by Council in November had been revised. Revisions were made to sections E and F regarding which staff would be reviewing and processing appeals. A motion to accept the revisions as they were presented was made by Council member Schrank; seconded by Council member Brue; motion carried. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports HHS Fiscal Manager Strenke reviewed the November 2019 ADRC Financial report with the Council. Strenke explained that the Intergovernmental Revenue shows collections up to September. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members reviewed the November 2019 Information and Assistance report. There were three enrollments into Inclusa and no disenrollments; there were no enrollments into Care WI and two disenrollments; there were two enrollments into IRIS- TMG and no disenrollments; there were no enrollments or disenrollments into IRIS- Connections or IRIS-Consumer Direct. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Out of County and Weekend Senior Center Transportation Requests There were a couple of Out of County/Weekend Transportation requests presented for approval. December 16 - New Richmond for evening light tour December 23 - Hudson for evening light tour January 10 - Hudson to Boyceville A motion to approve the requests was made by Supervisor Moothedan; seconded by Council member Brue; motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Tammy Moothedan, Supervisor SECONDER: Mary Ellen Brue, Council Member AYES: Tammy Moothedan, Bob Feidler, Paulette Anderson, Mary Ellen Brue, Maureen Brunner, Virginia Drath, Natalie Rivard, Alfred Schrank, James Schreiber, George Zaske, Bonnie Richert 6. 2020 Aging and Disability Resource Center events & Council on Aging and Disabilities meeting dates Council members received a handout listing the Council on Aging and Disabilities meeting dates for 2020 as well as special events. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council Chair Anderson asked if anyone had any requests for future agenda items. It was suggested to have the Administrator from the St. Croix County Health and Rehab present to the Council. Another suggestions was Peg Gagnon, Bridge for Youth with Disabilities to present on Aging Caregivers. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Beckman informed the Council Emergency Meal Kits will be provided to all the Home-delivered Meal Program participants to ensure they have a meal when the ADRC is not able to deliver due to weather or unscheduled closure. He also mentioned that over 100 individual will be receiving Secret Santa presents this year. The number of participants is higher than 2018, but there are enough funds in the program currently to cover the costs. ADJOURN The Council meeting was adjourned at 9:08 am. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next Council meeting will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the St. Croix County Services Center in New Richmond.
