Presentation by St. Croix County Emergency Communication-Smart 911 Terry Anderson, Emergency Communications Manager, provided Council members with information regarding the availability of Smart 911 in St. Croix County. Anderson explained that are mass notification system called RAVE is part of the Smart 911 system where residents can submit questions where reports can be run. The information logged into that site unfortunately will not provide detail on residents who need assistance if power would be down for an extended period of time. The other part of Smart 911 is where a resident can log in with the specific information and when they call 911, that information pops up automatically to the dispatcher. However, St. Croix County, is not using that part of the program - there is only one county in Wisconsin utilizing it at this time. The new 911 system coming out in May does not interface with Smart 911, so that part is not available to St. Croix County. Consumers can still register for the mass notifications through the Sheriff's Department website. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3.
