Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting June 12, 2020 8:30 AM Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Ostness asked if there were any corrections, additions or deletions to the minutes. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Council on Aging and Disabilities Chair Ostness opened the floor for public comment. There was one public comment received via email from Celeste Koeberl, Hudson, regarding Public Health Protections Against COVID-19 Exposures and Spread Risks. Council members reviewed the email. No other public comment was presented. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. COVID-19 Presentation Deb Lindeman, St. Croix County Public Health, provided the Council with an update regarding COVID-19. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Elder Abuse Conference Presentation Karl Anderson, St. Croix County Assistant District Attorney (ADA), was introduced the Supervisor Bob Feidler. Supervisor Feidler explained that ADA Anderson along with other local agencies is working on a Elder Abuse Conference to be held in September. ADA Anderson discussed the reasoning behind the creation of the conference. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Aging and Disability Resource Center Dementia Care Specialist Program Presentation Kim Bauer, ADRC Dementia Care Specialist, discussed the Dementia Care Specialist program through ADRC. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Aging and Disability Resource Center Community Services Coordinator Presentation Amy Roemhild, ADRC Community Services Coordinator, provided Council with information regarding the programs she works with and oversees. Roemhild oversees the ADRC Transportation programs, works closely with the Senior Center Boards at each of the Senior Nutrition Sites, assist with grant writing, works with other ADRC staff to coordinate special events, collaborates with AARP Tax Assistance on scheduling, and a variety of other things. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports Council members reviewed the July 2020 Financial Report. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Information and Assistance Specialist/Options Counselor Update Sheet Council members received the June and July Information and Assistance reports. During those months, there were 12 enrollments into Inclusa; theres was one disenrollment; there were no enrollments and one disenrollment for Care WI; there were four enrollments and one disenrollment into the IRIS programs. RESULT: DISCUSSED 7. 2020 Aging Unit Plan Med-Year Self-Assessment Council members reviewed the 2019-2021 Aging Unit Plan. The Aging team meet with Jane Mahoney, Greater Wisconsin Area on Agency Resources Consultant, and reviewed the 2020 goals and discussed any modifications that may need to be done due to COVID-19. RESULT: DISCUSSED 8. Home Delivered and Congregate Meal Six Month Statistics for 2020 The Council members reviewed the 6th month statistics for the Nutrition Program. Due to COVID-19, the number of Congregate meals is significantly low and the Home- delivered meals has increased. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council Chair Ostness asked if anyone had any future agenda items. The Elder Benefit Specialists and Disability Benefit Specialist will provide an overview of their programs. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADRC Administrator Beckman presented County Administrator Patrick Thompson with a certificate of appreciation thanking him for his advocacy over the years.
