APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting March 12, 2021 8:30 AM
COAD Chair Ostness asked if there were any corrections, additions, or deletions to the
minutes. Chair Ostness approved the minutes as written.
RESULT: ACCEPTED
PUBLIC COMMENT
COAD Chair Ostness opened the floor for public comment. Seeing none he proceeded with the
meeting.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports
HHS Fiscal Manager Strenke reviewed the March 2021 Financial Report. Strenke noted
that the expenses and revenue are in line.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. COVID-19 Presentation
Public Health Epedemologist, Elizabeth Klasen, presented information to the Council
regarding current numbers and vaccination amounts. Discussion followed.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. St. Croix County Sheriff's Department Presentation
Sheriff Knudson presented information regarding crimes impacting the community. He
reviewed different scams that target those are 65 and over, why some crimes are not
reported, and how to report a crime. Discussion followed.

4. Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources Aging Unit Plan Presentation
Jane Mahoney provided a presentation to the Council regarding Older Americans Act,
Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Inc and the required Three Year Aging
Plans. Discussion followed.

5. Recognition of Outgoing Council on Aging and Disabilities Member - Mary Ellen
Brue
Brad Beckman, ADRC Administrator, presented Mary Ellen with a certificate on
appreciation and read a brief narrative about Mary Ellen.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
COAD Chair Ostness asked if there were any suggestions for future agenda items. Beckman
informed the Council that St. Croix County Judge Needham will be presenting. Beckman
mentioned having Pam Steinmentz, ADRC Quality Assurance Specialist through Bureau for
Aging and Disability Resources or Ronda Brown, St. Croix County Economic Support on how the
ADRC and Economic Support work together.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Beckman updated the Council that we and the Hudson Senior Board are seeking a new home
for the Hudson Senior Nutrition Program. A letter for partnership was sent to the Hudson
Chamber and Hudson Churches. A press release was submitted to the Hudson paper and
posted on the St. Croix County Facebook.
Beckman mentioned that the Glenwood City Senior Nutrition Site was moved successfully
yesterday to the temporary location at St. Johns Catholic Church. The site will be ready to
roll on Monday, April 12.
Beckman read a thank you email from a consumer regarding the assistance received by Tara
Murdzek, Caregiver Support Coordinator.
Beckman informed the Council that Natalie Rivard has turned in her resignation from the
Council. We are currently seeking applications for a person who represents the target area
of mental health.

The date of the next meeting will be Friday, May 14, 2021 at the St. Croix County Services
Center.
