Old Business:
Software Updates: ECHO software update is proceeding
as scheduled. A timeline has been developed identifying all
items that need to be performed. Conference calls are taking
place with ECHO on a weekly basis. Departments
participating in this phase are AODA, Mental Health, Long
Term Support, Public Health, Accounts Receivable. With
the state mandating the SACWIS software for Family and
Children's, it is unclear if they will be participating.
VISIONS: Nothing to report.
SAGE: Waiting for W2 update to print employee W2
forms.

Time and Attendance: Tom Boron has reviewed about a
dozen different software packages with software from
Workforce Software being the front runner at this time. A
demo will be set up next week for Chuck Whiting and Deb
Kathan.
Windows XP: We will be ordering new machines with XP
licenses but installing them Windows 2000 unless the user
wants XP and there are no compatibility issues.
Disposal of Equipment: 5 computers were sold before
Christmas during a silent auction in New Richmond.
Proceeds were in excess of $500. We will be setting up
another 5 PC's in the next few weeks.
I-NET: This is a fiber connection to other public buildings
in Hudson. There is no usage cost but there will be
equipment cost depending upon how this connection is to be
used. Recommend installing it since there is no charge for
this.
New Business:
VPN: Computer Services is looking into the possibility of
establishing a virtual private network. This would allow
access to the County network via the internet. This would
be helpful for the Parks department along with supported
Police Departments.
Other Items:
FTP site: Computer Services has established an FTP site
for the County. This will allow for transfer of large files via
the internet.
Rich Loney brought up the issue of establishing a
communications link between New Richmond and the
Highway department. This would create a loop between the
County facilities providing fault tolerance in case one link
would drop. It was agreed that this should be looked into.
State of Wisconsin has mandated software for the
Department on Aging effective 1/1/02 that requires a server-
based environment. This software still has not been released
to the department. The State is requiring this to get them in
Federal compliance so they don't lose Federal monies.
