CROIX COUNTY SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMITTEE OFFICIAL MINUTES NOVEMBER 30 2011 CALL TO ORDER: Chair Esther Wentz called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. ROLL CALL: Members present: Esther Wentz, Buzz Marzolf, and Linda Luckey. Others present: Duana Bremer; Shannon Bartlett; Eric Johnson; Ed Thurman; Sara Sedahl; and, Mary Planten - Krell. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: A motion was made by Luckey and seconded by Marzolf to approve the minutes of the October 27, 2011 meeting with the following correction: Change the first line of the fourth paragraph of the section entitled "Presentation by Amber Perry, Drug Court Coordinator—Re-entry after Drug Court" to read " Judge Vlack shared that heroin, meth, and oxycodone use are on the increase." Passed. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: January 26, 2012 Committee Networking — Alcohol and Other Drugs: It was discussed that the New Richmond School District has not signed -up for the Youth Services Bureau program for next year. Chair Wentz and YSB staff will meet tomorrow with the school Superintendent. Sara Sedahl will be holding a meeting on December 8, 2011 at the Health Care Center to gather ideas for Parents Who Host. Eric Johnson, District Attorney, reported that 1400 children participated in the poster contest for the Stop Drugs Calendar for 2012. The contest is open to grades four to seven. He said that over $75,000 in prize money has been awarded over the last twenty -one years. He also reported that the Wisconsin Attorney General has eliminated the drug prosecutor position that had been shared by Polk and St. Croix Counties. He said that we still lead the State in meth use, and heroin and oxcontin use is increasing. It was reported that there is a rumor that a mobile liquor truck is operating in the County, selling to underage drinkers. The meeting adjourned at 3:40 P.M. Recording Secretary: Linda Luckey
