Present: Jack Colvard, Vicki Linneman, St. Croix County Emergency Management; Buck Malick, Art Jacobson, John Mortensen, Charles Grant, Lori Bernard, Denise Gunderson, St. Croix County Board; Casey Swetlik, St. Croix County Emergency Communications; Ted Beyer, Knutson Beyer Group, Inc.; Barbara Nelson, Public Health; Tim Ramberg, St. Croix County Hwy. Dept.; Craig Olson, City of River Falls; Jon Aubart, River Falls Police Dept.; Rick Huston, United Fire & Rescue Woodville; and Dan Smith, Hudson /BayWest Fire Dept. LEPC Chairman, Charles Grant, called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m. The agenda was adopted on a Malick /Olson MOTION. The May 17th, 2002 minutes were approved for St. Croix County on a Mortensen /Huston MOTION. The next meeting date: Is scheduled for October 18th, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Hulcher Professional Services, Inc., Hudson, WI. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Village of Roberts Table Top Exercise Colvard informed the Committee about an upcoming tabletop exercise for the Village of Roberts on September 24, 2002 at 10:00 a.m., involving a train derailment and chemical spill in the Village. All committee members are welcome to attend the exercise. He asked for volunteers from the committee who would act as evaluators. The following members said they would participate; Denise Gunderson, Lori Benard, Craig Olson, and John Mortensen. 2. Terrorism Equipment Grant Update Colvard told the Committee what equipment has been purchased so far with the 2001 Terrorism Equipment grant monies. He stated that the agencies must maintain their training and certifications in order to be eligible for additional monies from future grants. The equipment purchased for them must be equal to their level of training in order to use the equipment. 3. New and Updated Plans since May 17, 2002 There were four new or updated plans since May 17, 2002, which included; AT &T of Hudson, WI- updated; Frontier Communications, New Richmond, WI -new; Williams Communications, Hudson, WI -new; and Checker Auto, Hudson, WI -new. 4. Public Health Influenza Pandemic Exercise Barb Nelson of Public Health explained about the upcoming Influenza Pandemic Exercise that will take place on September 19, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Croix County Government Center Community Room. It will entail three scenarios: a global outbreak, local outbreaks, and a large local impact involving only a community. This exercise will help in the preparedness of any disaster. 5. Update on Hazmat Training for Emergency Service Agencies Colvard distributed a list of Hazmat training courses that have been presented to date, for this year. Also, he advised that any agency interested in receiving Hazmat training needs to get their requests in as soon as possible in order to lock in funding for the classes. 6. Public Input and Concerns Aubart told about his training at Fort McCoy for the Certified Public Manager Program and that his project for the course was to update /rewrite the City's Municipal Emergency Operations Plan. .
