SUBMITTED BY: Debra Kathan, Personnel Director DATE: September 17, 2002 COPIES TO: County Board Office, County Clerk, News Media, Notice Board, Committee Members r PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING Official Date: September 30, 2002 Location: Government Center, Hudson The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Chairman Daryl Standafer. Members present: Standafer, Stan Krueger, Julie Speer, and Dick King. Arriving at 8:55 a.m. was Leon Berenschot. Also present: Debra Kathan and Chuck Whiting. Arriving at 8:45 a.m. was Steve Weld. Moved (King, Krueger) and approved to adopt the agenda as presented. Moved (Speer, King) and approved to accept the minutes of the September 16 meeting. Whiting noted that new health insurance premium rates were received from Preferred One which would place the renewal rates at $796.73 per month for the Employer and $88.53 per month for the Employee (assuming a 90/10 split in payments). The Committee reviewed health insurance data relating to rates and usage. The General Government Support Services Union (GGSS) and the County exchanged proposals for the opening of a 2003+ contract. Representing GGSS were Steve Hartmann, business agent; Kathy Spott, Lisa Dahl, and alternate Marion Standaert. Hartmann indicated that he will discuss the issue of "labor market adjustments" to the wage classifications at the next meeting. The next bargaining meetings with the County and GGSS were set for 11 a.m. on October 14 and 9 a.m. on November 4. Motion (Krueger, Berenschot) to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c for the purpose of continuing labor negotiations with the Highway Union. Roll call vote: all aye: moved into closed session at 10:15 a.m. Representing the Highway Union were Steve Hartmann, business agent; Mike Van Keuren and Rodney Kongshaug. Moved ( Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to come out of closed session at noon. Standafer reviewed the next meeting dates with the AFSCME unions, including an 8:30 a.m. meeting and 9:00 a.m. bargain with the Highway Union on October 14.
