Malick, St. Croix County Board Chairman FROM: Daryl Standafer, Personnel Committee Chairman COMMITTEE TITLE: Personnel DATE: October 22, 2002 TIME: 1 p.m, bargain to begin at 1:30 p.m. LOCATION: Health Center, New Richmond CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA ACTION ON PREVIOUS MINUTES from October 21, 2002 DATE OF NEXT MEETING: November 4, 2002, 12:30 p.m.at the SCHC UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c for the purpose of continuing negotiations with the Health Center Union, reconvene into open session to conclude agenda items or take action. SUBMITTED BY: Debra Kathan, Personnel Director DATE: September 17, 2002 COPIES TO: County Board Office, County Clerk, News Media, Notice Board, Committee Members PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING Date: October 22, 2002 Location: St. Croix Health Center, New Richmond The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 1:10 p.m. by Chairman Daryl Standafer. Members present: Standafer, Dick King, Leon Berenschot, and Stan Krueger; excused absence —Julie Speer. Also present: Debra Kathan, Steve Weld, and Chuck Whiting. Moved (Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to adopt the agenda as presented. Moved (Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to accept the minutes of the October 21 meeting. The next meeting was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on October 29 at the Government Center. The Committee will be bargaining with the GGSS Union employees. The Committee discussed the issue of compensation for the non -union employees and when action should be taken to implement the wage and insurance rates for 2003. No action taken —was referred to a later meeting date. Discussion regarding the Wiplft study and what bargaining strategies can assist in answering concerns raised by the document. Motion (Berenschot, Krueger) to go into closed session per WI. Stat. 19.85 (1) c for the purpose of continuing labor negotiations with the Health Center (nursing home) union. Roll call vote: all aye; moved into closed session at 1:47 p.m. Members of the Health Center bargaining team included LaCinda Nichols, Anne Fagnan, Deanna Person, and AFSCME staff representative Steve Hartmann. Moved (Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to come out of closed session at 2:55 p.m. The Committee authorized Weld to send a letter to the WERC mediator Steven Morrison regarding the mediation with LAW.
