PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING

Date: October 21, 2002 Location: St. Croix Health Center, New Richmond
The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 8:35 a.m. by Chairman
Daryl Standafer. Members present: Standafer, Julie Speer, Dick King, Leon Berenschot,
and Stan Krueger. Also present: Debra Kathan, Steve Weld, and Chuck Whiting.
Standafer asked that the agenda item regarding "defibrillators" be removed from
consideration. Moved (Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to adopt the agenda as
presented, excluding the new business item of defibrillators. Moved (King, Krueger) and
approved to accept the minutes of the October 14 meeting. The next meeting was
scheduled for 1 p.m. on October 22 at the Health Center in New Richmond. The
Committee will be bargaining with the nursing home union employees.
Weld announced that AFSCME staff representative stated that he will not be
bringing forward proposals for the accretion of the Land and Water Conservation
employees, as originally planned for tomorrow. A new bargain date was not set for this
group. Weld reviewed the last bargain and the County reviewed its position on various
proposals.
Motion (Berenschot, Krueger) to go into closed session per WI. Stat. 19.85 (1) c
for the purpose of continuing labor negotiations with the Human Services Non -Pro
Union. Roll call vote: all aye; moved into closed session at 9:20 a.m. Members
representing the union bargaining team were Steve Hartmann, Diane Northrup, Cari
Myer, and Marcia Heinbuch.
Moved (Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to come out of closed session at
11:10 a.m. Standafer adjourned the meeting at 11:10 a.m.
