CALL TO ORDER
The Transportation Committee meeting was called to order by Convener Scott Nelson.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – April 11, 2016 8:30 AM
RESULT: ACCEPTED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Thomas Elbert spoke to the Transportation Committee regarding highway shoulder concerns.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Election of Chair & Vice Chair
Chair-Nomination by Dave Peterson/Scott Nelson to elect William Peavey as Chair of the
Transportation Committee. Motion carried.
Vice Chair-Nomination by Scott Nelson/Ryan Sicard to elect Dave Ostness as Vice
Chair. Nomination closed. Motion made by William Peavey/Scott Nelson to elect David
Ostness as Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee. Motion carried.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Establish a Regular Meeting Schedule
Motion made by Dave Peterson/Dave Ostness to schedule the Transportation Committee
Meeting the second Monday of each month, 8:30 am, at the Highway Department Office,
Hammond. Motion carried.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Appointment of Three Members to the Transit Planning Subcommittee
Chair Peavey appointed Dave Ostness and Scott Nelson as members to the Transit
Planning Sub Committee. Chair Peavey will ask Supervisor Paulette Anderson if she
would consider being the third member. Motion made by Dave Peterson/Ryan Sicard to
hold the meetings the 4th Friday of every month, 10:00 am, at the New Richmond
Services Center. Motion carried.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Future agenda items to include: Work Zone Speed Reduction Ordinance, update on County
resident highway shoulder concerns, create an Ad Hoc Committee to proceed with research of a
St. Croix County Highway Department facility, update on Radio Road and Mann Lane projects.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
The WCHA Summer Highway Conference will be held June 6-8, 2016 in Wisconsin Dells.
Tim Ramberg, Todd Rehnelt and Dave Ostness gave the Committee an update on the Nace
conference.
Wisconsin is scheduled to host the 2018 NACE conference.
There is a pre-construction meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 12 regarding the Parker Creek
Bridge on County Road 'J'.
A letter was sent from the State of Wisconsin, Governor Scott Walker, awarding the St. Croix
County Highway Department $182,150 in CHIP Discretionary Funds.
The State has been notified of the CTH 'M' bridge concerns and these concerns have been
repaired.
