PUBLIC COMMENT
Dan Hekrdle, Highway Operations Trainer and Larry Jepsen, Pollk County Supervisor and a
member of WCHA were introduced.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Monthly Financial Report
Kathy Rineck gave an overview of the Financial Report.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Ad Hoc Transportation Space Needs Facility Planning Committee Update
Staff is preparing a presentation for the Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for
July 18, 2017.

3. Transit Planning Subcommittee
Dave Ostness reviewed the last Transit Planning Subcommittee. Various companies and
organizations in the area have expressed an interest in transit operations.

4. St. Croix River Crossing Ceremony
The St. Croix Crossing Bridge dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for
Wednesday, August 2 on the eastbound Highway 36 approach.

5. Public Information Meeting Safety Improvements CTH I
The Public Information meeting is scheduled for 10:00 am.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. Jurisdictional Transfer Update for CTH MM-Radio Road-Mann Lane
Staff is working with the local units of government to complete the Jurisdictional
Transfer. Mann Lane construction is scheduled to begin in the fall.

7. Consider speed limit changes to CTH K
Motion by Dave Ostness/Dave Peterson to post the 35 mile per hour speed limit as
recommended. Motion Carried.

8. Construction Update including CTH T Lane Closure at I94
Staff reported the construction is solid. Robbie Krejci notified the Committee of a lane
clousre being scheduled on CTH T at the (south) I94 round-a-bout for warranty work on
the concrete.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Rob Krejci thanked the Transportation Committee, Todd Rehnelt, and staff for all the assistance
he has received since starting at the St. Croix County Highway Department.
Staff met with Ellen Denzer, Community Development Director, to discuss priorities for the
Bike and Pedestrian Plan.
The Highway Department is currently spraying noxious weeds. The spraying will continue
through fall and spring of 2018.
The Highway is planning to have a truck at the Roberts Library "Touch a Truck" event on July
19.
Staff from the Highway Department are presenting highway safety information to the local
schools driver education program.
