1. Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – July 10, 2017 8:00 AM

1. Monthly Financial Report
Kathy Rineck gave an overview of the financial report.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Ad Hoc Transportation Space Needs Facility Planning Committee Update
Rob Krejci and Todd Rehnelt updated the Committee on the continuing progress. The
Administration Committee meets on August 16 in regards to funding and land purchase.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Transit Planning Subcommittee Update
David Ostness updated the Committee on Transit Planning. The Subcommittee is
planning a workshop session at the September meeting.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. Bike and Pedestrian Plan Update
Highway Staff met with the Community Development staff and reviewed various low
cost improvements associated with 2018 CIP funds.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Discuss potential effects on County Bridges pertaining to the FHWA Bridge Posting
Requirements
Staff reviewed the Federal Highway Administration changes in regards to the criteria of
bridge weight limit postings and how it could lower posted limits on up to 22 bridges
within the County.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. Consider Resolution & Opposition of Assembly Bill 456
Staff shared information regarding Assembly 456. Motion by Dave Ostness/Dave
Peterson directing staff to draft a letter and a resolution declaring opposition to Assembly
Bill 456. Motion carried.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Dave Ostness reported he was elected the to WCHA Executive Committee.
Patrick Thompson reported the Highway budget process is going well.
Highway staff plans to meet with the Wisconsin DOT in regards to road maintenance at or near
the St. Croix River Crossing.
