1. Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – January 8, 2018 8:30 AM

1. Monthly Financial Report
Kathy Rineck gave an overview of the financial report.

2. Ad Hoc Building Committee Update
Rob Krejci reviewed Bid Package #1. Bid Package #2 is expected to be let the end of
February. Rob and Todd Rehnelt will be in Eau Clarie on February 13 to review and
discuss the Highway Facility plans.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Transit Planning Subcommittee Update
Dave Ostness discussed the County Board action to create a Transit Commission.
Members will be appointed by Administrator Thompson at a future County Board
meeting. The Request for Information has been revised and is scheduled to be sent out
after the first Transit Commission meeting.

4. NACE Conference Update
The NACE (National Association of County Engineers) conference is being held April
22-26, 2018, in Wisconsin Dells.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Highway Department Report
Jeff Durkee is working with the WISDOT on the Bridge Posting that goes into effect
March 1, 2018.
Staff is working with Community Development to identify and discuss specifics on the
Highway 35/County Road V Transportation Alternatives Project Grant. A bike trail sign
has been designed and created.
The Highway Department is expected to have a full construction schedule in 2018. Staff
plans to post a construction location map on the County web page.
Staff is reviewing employment applications.

6. Brine Tank Update
Rob Krejci deferred this item to a future Transportation Committee meeting.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
7. Retirement Plaque Presentation
The Transportation Committee; Roger Larson, District 11 Supervisor & County Board
Chair; Pat Thompson, Administrator and the Highway Department Staff joined in
congratulating Richard Colbeth and Richard Heseelink on their retirement from the St.
Croix County Highway Department.

Dave Ostness and WCHA have a meeting scheduled with Secretary Ross on Thursday, February
15. The State is working on a Local Bridge Pilot Program.
