Review of new and upgraded position requests (department[s] unavailable on August 14). SUBMITTED BY: Debra Kathan, Personnel Director DATE: July 24, 2002 COPIES TO: County Board Office, County Clerk, News Media, Notice Board, Committee Members PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING Date: August 19, 2002 Location: Government Center, Hudson The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Chairman Daryl Standafer. Members present: Standafer, Julie Speer, Dick King, Leon Berenschot, and Stan Krueger. Also present: Buck Malick, Debra Kathan, and Chuck Whiting. Moved (Berenschot, King) and approved to accept the agenda as presented. Moved (Krueger, Speer) and approved to adopt the minutes from the August 14 Personnel Committee meeting. The Committee met with representatives of the Labor Association of Wisconsin— Sheriff s Department bargaining team to exchange proposals for a 2003+ contract. Representing LAW were Michael Winberg, Shawn DeMulling, and James Dorsey. Each side presented proposals for a 2003 -2004 contract. The bargaining teams determined that they would continue the bargain today. Motion (Berenschot, Speer) to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c for the purpose of continuing labor negotiations with the LAW Union. Roll call vote: all aye; moved into closed session at 10:38 a.m. Moved (Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to come out of closed session at 3:53 p.m. Standafer indicated that a negotiations session with LAW would be scheduled for 10 a.m., August 21. Gary Kollman appeared before the Committee to present his request for a reorganization of the Emergency Communications Center involving the addition of a Telecommunicator position and the upgrading of four 70% positions to full -time. The Committee will review all new and upgraded position requests at their August 21 meeting. Standafer called for adjournment at 4:40 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Julie Speer, Secretary
