1. Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – October 15, 2018 8:30 AM

PUBLIC COMMENT
Ben Fuchs, River Falls resident, spoke about the concern of truck traffic in the area of County
Road U, Mann Valley Lane and Powell Avenue.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Report for October 2018
Kathy Rineck gave an overview of the Highway Department finances for October 2018.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Discuss and Consider ATV Policy
Motion by Schachtner/Miller to approve the St. Croix County Policy-ATV/UTV Routes on
County Trunk Highways.
RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

3. Highway Department Report
Staff has been working with the City of Hudson regarding traffic surrounding St. Croix
Meadows.
A movable digital speed limit sign is being used in various parts of the County.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. Ad Hoc Transportation Space Needs Facility Update
The framing is being completed on the cold storage building. The salt shed floor is
being poured next week. Staff has been giving tours to the operations department.

5. Transit Commission Update
Ann Schell, WCWRPC, provided an overview of the 2017 Transit Feasibility Study.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. Town of Hudson CTH A & McCutchen Road Correspondence
The Town of Hudson Chair sent a letter requesting assistance for improvements at this
intersection. Staff plans to meet and review options.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Review January and February Transportation Committee dates.
Discuss concerns of truck traffic in the area of County Road U, Mann Valley Lane and Powell
Avenue.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
WisDOT will resume I94 construction projects in the Spring. Operations staff plans to meet and
discuss winter maintenance in the construction area.
Winter Road School is January 14-16, 2019.
