1. Transportation Committee Regular Meeting September 16, 2019 8:30 AM

PUBLIC COMMENT
Melanie Weiberg spoke to the Transportation Committee about regarding speeding and the
turtles crossing on County Road H.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Report for September 2019
Kathy Rineck gave a status overview of the 2019 budget.

2. Highway Department Report
3. Transit Commission Report
No meeting was held on October.

4. Highway Department Report
Rob Krejci and Todd Rehnelt presented information regarding:
Digital speed limit sign project report-Staff is working with digital sign vendors and law
enforcement regarding speeding on County Road A (Burkhardt), County Road H (Cedar
Lake area), County Road I (between County Road A and County Road E) and County
Road D (Emerald).
Winter maintenance report-400 Ton of salt has been received at the Baldwin facility, the
brine system is in operation. Construction projects were delayed to keep the highway
budget in balance due to winter maintenance costs.
2020 Budget update/Committee of the Whole follow up-The Committee had no further
questions regarding the 2020 budget.
Wisconsin County Highway Association Road School January 2020-The agenda will be
available soon for interested Committee members.

5. Review of Hammond Facility Sale
Staff is working on final items prior to the sale of the Hammond Highway Facility.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. Report on WisDOT Salt Shed Payment
Staff has provided the requested information to The Wisconsin Department of
Transportation. The salt shed payment has been approved and will be sent to St. Croix
County. Payment is expected in late 2019.

7. Surface Transportation Program Review
Highway staff is assisting County Entities in developing and submitting applications for
the 2020-2025 cycle. This program is an 80/20 Federal aid program to improve Federal
aid eligible highways within the County.

8. Multimodal Local Supplement Program Reveiw
Staff is working with County entities on the 2019-2021 Mulitmodal Local Supplement
program This is a 90/10 program to fund multiple transportation projects.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Wisconsin County Highway Association is looking for interested Committee members to serve
on the Board of Directors as an Elected Representative.
The Brine system is up and running. Trucks will be applying product soon.
Staff has been working with the Village of Baldwin and the use of fire hydrants.
