Transportation Committee Regular Meeting October 21, 2019 8:30 AM RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Financial Report for November 2019 Kathy Rineck and Ken Witt reviewed the Finance Report. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Transit Commission Meeting Update Dave Ostness presented information regarding a letter of interest being sent to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation regarding funding for Transit in St. Croix County. A contract is in process for West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission to assist the Transit Commission. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Highway Department Report 2019 Construction Update-Discussed the revised 2019 & 2020 construction budget , which has been adjusted to compensate for additional winter maintenance costs. WisDOT Work Zone Requirement Update-Staff has been attending this mandatory training, required for flagging on State Roads. This certification will be required as of January 1, 2020. WCHA is reviewing staffing options over the next two years. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Review and Discuss Highway Department Initiatives Report Rob Krejci and Todd Rehnelt reviwed the Initiatives report and will remove the completed projects. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Review and Discuss Hammond Facility Sale The closing for the Hammond Facility is scheduled for early January, 2020. Staff has been working to clean up the facility. The fuel tanks have been removed and no soil contamination was detected. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Review and Make Recommendations on Remaining Funds from the Baldwin Highway Facility Bond The Committee reviewed the financial summary of the Baldwin Highway Facility project. Motion by Peterson/Ostness to authorize remaining project balance be allocated to purchase equipment related to the Baldwin Highway facility. Motion carried.
