1. Transportation Committee Regular Meeting December 16, 2019 8:30 AM
RESULT: ACCEPTED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Melanie Weiberg spoke to the Transportation Committee about regarding speeding and the
turtle mortality on County Road H near Cedar Lake.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Monthly Financial Report
Kathy Rineck reviewed the Financial Report.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Transit Commission Update
Dave Ostness advised the Transportation Committee that a contract was signed with
West Central Regional Planning Commission to assist the Transit Commission in
developing service routes and areas. He also indicated a letter of intent for public
transportation assistance was sent to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation-Rural
Public Transit Department.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Highway Department Report
Winter Maintenance Budget Update-Staff is reviewing the 2019 winter budget and
adjusting 2020 highway projects accordingly.
Wisconsin County Highway Association Budget Update-The Association is updating
contracts for staff.
Highway Staff plans to present in March the updated Highway Department five year
Highway Improvement Plan.
The Operations Department plans to fill pot holes and spray patch where necessary
during the winter.

4. St. Croix County Highway & Sheriff Department Coordination Update
Rob Krejci reviewed communication correspondence with the Sheriff Department.
Digital speed monitors are being placed on County Roads in various parts of the County.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Hammond Highway Facility Sale Update
The Hammond Shop closing is scheduled for February 28, 2020.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. County Trunk Highway GG (140th Street to 150th Street) Project Update
Jeff Durkee reviewed the plans for County Trunk Highway GG. The let date is scheduled
for April 14, 2020 with a scheduled completion in September 2020.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
7. County Trunk Highway E (CTH I to CTH A) Project Update
Jeff Durkee reviewed the plans for County Trunk Highway E. The let date is scheduled for
March 10, 2020 with a scheduled completion in 2020.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
8. WisDOT/County Trunk Highway Work Zone/Flagger Policy
Rob Krejci shared the State Work Zone Policy and the draft County Work Zone Policy.
This is to be considered at a future Transportation Committee meeting for adoption on
St. Croix County Highways.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
