1. Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – February 17, 2022 8:30 AM

1. Monthly Financial Report
Kathy Rineck presented an update on the Financial Reports.

2. Highway Department Report
-2022 Material Bid Letting Update-Bids have been reviewed, Rob Krejci noted an
increase in hot mix prices.
-2022 Seasonal Schedule Change-The Highway Operations staff will begin the 4 x 10
schedule on March 28, 2022
-Staffing Update-Rob Krejci announced the retirements of Brian Halling and Ralph Ring.
Staff plans to conduct Shop Superintendent Interviews. The Highway Department has
hired two people for the Operations Division.
-Spring Weight Restrictions-Effective March 14, 2022, signs have been posted.
-West Central District Spring Commissioners and Committee Members Meeting will
be held April 12, 2022.
-Work Zone Safety Awareness Week April 13-19, 2022

3. Review Proposed 2022 County Highway Work Schedule
Rob Krejci presented the 2022 Highway Department work schedule.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. Badlands/80th Avenue – US12 to STH 65 Jurisdiction Discussion.
Rob Krejci discussed the possibility a jurisdictional transfer from the Town of
Hudson/Warren to the County because the volume/type of traffic on this section of
Town Highway.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Consider ATV/UTV Route Applications Presented
Motion by William Peavey/Rich Ottino to approve the following route applications for
ATV/UTV road access. Motion carried.
County Trunk Highway K from 170th Street (west) to 170th Street (east) in the Town of
Erin Prairie and the Town of Somerset.
County Trunk Highway M from Huntington Drive to the Polk County Line.
These approved applications will go to the Board of Supervisors for approval on June 7,
2022.

6. Consider Small Tools Charging Policy to Local Projects
Motion by Rick Ottino/Ed Schachtner to approve the Small Tools Charging Policy to
Local Projects. Motion carried.

7. Consider St. Croix County Utility Accommodation Policy Update
Rob Krejci requested to eliminate the Standard Service Fee.
Motion by Ed Schachtner/Rick Ottino to adopt the St. Croix County Utility Policy
including the removal of the Standard Service Fee.
Motion carried.
