Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – June 20, 2022 8:30 AM RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Highway Department Financial Report Kathy Rineck presented an update of the Highway Department Finances. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Review of Mandated Services Rob Krejci reviewed the St. Croix County Highway Department mandated services consisting of the County Aid Bridge Program, Inspection of Bridges and Highway Carcass Removal. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Highway Department Monthly Report Staffing Update-Rob Krejci reviewed the status of new hires and retirements at the Highway Department Preliminary 2023 Budget Preparation-Staff reviewed the preliminary preparations noting a static operations budget RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Discuss County Trunk Highway A from New Richmond Way to State Highway 64 Corridor Safety Analysis Rob Krejci reviewed the traffic impact on County Trunk Highway A, from New Richmond Way to State Highway 64, noting a Corridor Safety Analysis is scheduled. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Consider Work Zone Policy Motion made by P. Adams/M. Barcalow to approve the Work Zone Policy as presented. Motion carried RESULT: ADOPTED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Paul Adams, Supervisor SECONDER: Mike Barcalow, Supervisor AYES: Paul Adams, Richard Ottino, Mike Barcalow, Bob Swanepoel, Jerry VanSomeren 6. Consider Safe Roads for All Grant Application Opportunity Rob Krejci reviewed the joint County Safe Roads for all grant application. This is a joint grant application with Eau Claire County and Dunn County. Motion by Paul Adams/Mike Barcalow to approve the Transportation Committee Chair to draft a letter of support for the Safe Roads for All Grant Opportunity. Motion carried. Discuss Request for Review of St. Croix County Transit The Committee reviewed the request from the County Board to discuss the St. Croix County Transit system. The Committee discussed that if further ideas on County transit are brought forth the Committee would review them at that time. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE The Public Information Meeting held on August 13, 2022 regarding County Road A and McCutcheon Road round a bout received support from the local residents. Staff provided information regarding noxious weed spraying around St. Croix County. ADJOURN DATE OF NEXT MEETING AUGUST 15, 2020
