R. Michael Waterman, Jodi Sachsenmaier and Mike O'Keefe APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Executive Committee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting March 25, 2021 12:00 PM Minutes of March 25, 2021 accepted as presented. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. CJCC and Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Grant Financial Review Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator states he has applied for Treatment Alternatives & Diversion reimbursement from the WI Department of Justice in the amount of $27,867. This is for the 1st quarter reimbursement cycle. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Update The Hon. R. Michael Waterman states a CASA meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2021 and we are hoping to put together a CASA board of directors. He states we still need representation from the east side of the county for this program. We are anticipating serving children in the fall of 2021. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. CJCC Subcommittee Updates Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator states Bob Rohret, Director, HHS is recommending combining the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Subcommittees into one group. The name of this group will be the CJCC Behavioral Health Subcommittee. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Justice Services Task Force Update The Hon. Scott R. Needham states the Task Force held a meeting last week and will schedule another meeting when the new director is on board. Monroe County gave a presentation during the Task Force meeting and they have a lot of available programming for defendants. Judge Needham states Administrator Ken Witt has authorized the hiring of a new Justice Services Director and will start recruitment. This Department and position will be built into the 2022 budget request. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Review Transition Plan for CJCC Coordinator's Position Administrator Ken Witt states the Justice Services Director's position will be posted for 2 weeks and interviews should be held in mid-May. He states the position should be hired in June. Judge Needham states he would like to be on the hiring committee. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Review and Approve Agenda Items for the May 13, 2021 CJCC Council Meeting 1.) Recognition of the Hon. Ben Wopat, North Hudson Municipal Court for 36 years of service to the 10th Judicial District. 2.) Transition plan for new Justice Services Director.
