Executive Committee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting February 27, 2020 12:00 PM Minutes of February 27, 2020 were accepted as presented. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. CJCC and Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Financial Report Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator, gave an update on the CJCC and Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Grant budgets. He states both budgets are within guidelines. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Grant Update Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator, gave an update on the 2020 Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Grant. He also states the 2021 TAD grant application will be released some time in August 2021 and this will be the last year of the 5 year non competitive grant cycle. O'Keefe states this means we are reasonably assured of receiving continued funding in 2021, but for 2022-26 we will have to submit a grant application that will be open to statewide competition. He states we currently receive approximately $700,000 over a the 5 year period. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. CJCC Subcommittee Updates Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator gave updates on the current status of each CJCC Subcommittee. He states the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Subcommittees haven't met yet as we are in a transition stage with the Health and Human Services Director's position. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. St. Croix County COVID-19 Court Task Force Update Judge Needham gave an update on St. Croix County's COVID-19 Court Task Force plans for reengagement. He states Chief Judge Boyle has approved (without any modifications) our plans for in-person reengagement, jury trial reengagement, and facilities modifications. The plans have been forwarded to the Chief Justice and Director of State Courts Koschnick. In her letter to Chief Justice Roggensack, she pointed out the care, caution, and diligence exercised by our Task Force in creating the plans and specifically the redesign of the jury box in courtroom 1 to accommodate social distancing. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Review Agenda Items for CJCC Meeting - July 9, 2020 Agenda Items for CJCC Council meeting on July 9, 2020; 1.) COVID-19 Court Task Force Update, 2.) Stepping Up Initiative, 3.) Sheriff's Office Updates, 4.) CASA Update, 5.) Introduce new HHS Director, 6.) Karl Anderson - Elder Abuse Seminar Announcement, 7.) Introduce Christopher Channing, DCA, 8.) Financial Reports, 9.) Subcommittee Reports RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADJOURN Judge Needham adjourned the meeting at 12:37 p.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING Thursday, August 27, 2020, 12:00 p.m. Government Center.
