Executive Committee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting October 22, 2020 12:00 PM Kate Avoles made a motion to approve the minutes of October 22, 2020. Dave Peterson seconded the motion and approved unanimously. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Kathleen Avoles, Bar Association Rep. - Vice Chair SECONDER: David Peterson, County Board Supervisor AYES: David Peterson, Scott Needham, Kathleen Avoles, Ken Witt, Michael Nieskes PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. CJCC and Treatment Alternative & Diversion (TAD) Grant Financial Review Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator gave an update on the CJCC and Treatment Alternatives and Diversion budgets. He states both budgets are within guidelines. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) 2022 Grant Request Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator, discussed the competitive 2022-2027 Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Grant that should be released in July or August of 2021. He states this will be a very competitive process for a defined amount of funding from the WI Department of Justice. O'Keefe states most of WI counties will probably apply for some type of funding during this process and we should look for ways to make our application stand out from others. Judge Needham states we should form a workgroup to come up with ideas to make our application for the 2022 TAD Grant innovative and results oriented. O'Keefe discussed incorporating the Public Safety Assessment (PSA) into our current justice system model. Judge Needham states that the TAD Grant Workgroup should take a look at the entire justice system and make recommendations for improvement as we move forward with the application process. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. CJCC Council Agenda Items for January 14, 2021 Meeting Recommended CJCC Council Agenda items for the meeting on January 14, 2021; 1.) Nomination and election of CJCC Vice Chair for term 2021-23, 2.) CJCC Subcommittee Reports, 3.) CJCC and TAD Grant Financial Reports, 4.) Public Safety Assessments, 5.) Department updates, 6.)
