RESOLUTION APPROVING ECKERT BLUFFLANDS PARK
MASTER PLAN AMENDMENT
1 WHEREAS, St. Croix County recognizes the importance of parks and open space in
2 enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors; and
3
4 WHEREAS, on February 1, 2022, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors approved
5 the Eckert Blufflands Park Master Plan; and
6
7 WHEREAS, St. Croix County desires to emphasize nature based outdoor recreation
8 facilities at the park including hiking, bicycling, playground, pavilion/picnic areas and nature
9 viewing; and

11 WHEREAS, St. Croix County is seeking an amended plan with lower development
12 costs, that will align with a more modest development strategy for the park property, compared
13 to the Master Plan adopted in 2022; and
14
15 WHEREAS, St. Croix County Community Development staff has sought community
16 input through conversations, public meetings, and open houses with abutting property owners to
17 the park, the public, the Towns of Hudson and St. Joseph, Wisconsin Department of
18 Transportation, and the St. Croix County Community Development Committee relating to the
19 amended Plan document; and
21 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Community Development Committee held a public
22 hearing on the proposed amended Master Plan on February 20, 2025; and
23
24 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Community Development Committee has reviewed
25 the proposed amended plan and recommends approval.

27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
28 hereby amends the Eckert Blufflands Park Master Plan.
