RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FRONTIER'S GRANT REQUEST
THROUGH THE BROADBAND EQUITY, ACCESS, AND
DEPLOYMENT (BEAD) PROGRAM
1 WHEREAS, access to reliable, high-speed broadband is essential for economic
2 development, education, healthcare, and overall quality of life in St. Croix County; and
3
4 WHEREAS, many areas within St. Croix County remain unserved or underserved by
5 existing broadband infrastructure, limiting opportunities for residents and businesses to fully
6 participate in the digital economy; and

8 WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin is allocating funds through the Broadband Equity,
9 Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program to support broadband expansion projects that address
10 critical connectivity gaps in communities across the state; and
11
12 WHEREAS, Frontier has submitted an application to the State of Wisconsin for a $5
13 million broadband expansion project in St. Croix County, which aims to improve high-speed
14 internet access in unserved and underserved areas; and
15
16 WHEREAS, Frontier has committed to funding 25% of the total project cost,
17 demonstrating a significant financial investment in expanding broadband infrastructure within St.
18 Croix County; and
19
20 WHEREAS, this project aligns with St. Croix County's goal of improving broadband
21 accessibility to enhance economic growth, educational opportunities, and essential services for
22 residents and businesses.

24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of
25 Supervisors formally endorses Frontier's 2025 application for BEAD funding with the State of
26 Wisconsin and supports efforts to expand broadband infrastructure within St. Croix County.
