I�CQijs'1 1ORDINANCE TO REPEAL AND RECREATE CHAPTER 15 - GENERAL ZONING
- OF THE ST. CROIX COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES
1 The County Board of Supervisors of the County of St. Croix does ordain as follows:

3 WHEREAS, Chapter 15 of the St. Croix County Code of Ordinances is adopted under the
4 authority of Wis. Stat. §§ 59.69 to 59.698 and 66.1001 to 66.1037, and additional authority cited
5 in specific sections of the Chapter; and

7 WHEREAS, Chapter 15 applies to all lands in the unincorporated areas of towns under
8 County zoning; and

10 WHEREAS, the amendments include provisions to streamline duplicative text, simplify
11 development standards, reduce procedural requirements already covered by statute and
12 administrative code, give Towns more authority, and match current practices performed by staff,
13 and
14
15 WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the St. Croix
16 County Government Center by the Community Development Committee of the St. Croix County
17 Board of Supervisors as required by the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 59.69(5)(e) regarding the
18 proposed amendments; and

20 WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee has reviewed said amendments,
21 and recommends the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors enact said amendments to Chapter 15
22 of the St. Croix County Code of Ordinances.

24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the County Board of Supervisors of the
25 County of St. Croix that Chapter 15 — General Zoning — is repealed and recreated as attached
26 hereto.

28 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the provisions of the repealed and recreated Chapter
29 15 — General Zoning Ordinance shall supersede any prior ordinance provisions.

31 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the St. Croix County Community Development
32 Department is directed to forward the recreated ordinance to necessary governmental units and
33 agencies.

35 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the amended Chapter 15 — General Zoning — of the
36 St. Croix County Code of Ordinances shall be published by the County Clerk, pursuant to Wis.
37 Stat. § 59.14, and will become effective upon publication. This ordinance shall be codified.
