Michael Waterman. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Executive Committee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting November 17, 2016 12:00 PM Minutes are accepted as presented. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. 2016 CJCC Treatment Alternatives & Diversion Grant Budgets Summary Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator, reported that the 2016 CJCC and Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) Grant budgets will be closed out very soon. There is a progress report due on January 30, 2017 to close out the 2016 TAD Grant. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. 2017 Treatment Alternatives & Diversion Grant Project Update Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator reported that a contract for COMPAS/Court Assessor services has been signed with Lutheran Social Services (LSS) and the employee will start on Feburary 1, 2017. She will be attending COMPAS training sponsored by the WI Department of Corrections (DOC) on February 13 & 14, 2017 in Madison, WI. This employee may need access to the jail through the secure door but a request will have to be made with the Sheriff. This position will be housed in a flex station in the Community Development Department. Mike O'Keefe stated this isn't an ideal situation, but space is at a premium in this building. Michael Nieske made a suggestion that he could possibly give up some space in his office but to do this would require some major remodeling. As part of the Treatment Alternatives & Diversion Grant for 2017 we indicated that we would sponsor COMPAS overview training in our area for local Judges, attorneys and others that might be interested. Jared Hoy, WI DOC will provide this training on March 31, 2017 at the Government Center - County Board Room from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Judge Waterman gave an update on the Drug Court Program Specialist position that has been approved for funding through the TAD Grant. This is a part time (20) hour per week position and the starting wage was determined by Dr. McGrath and our Human Resources Department. Once this position clears the internal posting process it will be advertised to the general public. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. CJCC Subcommittees Update Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator, gave an update on CJCC Subcommittees. Fred Johnson suggested that a summary of Subcommittee progress be given at each CJCC Council Meeting. Judge Lundell directed Mike O'Keefe to develop a format and make it part of the packet at CJCC Council Meetings. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Agenda Items for CJCC Council Meeting - February 9, 2017 Agenda items for the February 9, 2017 CJCC Council Meeting: 1.) CJCC Subcommittee reports, 2.) Evidence Based Decision Making (EBDM) presentation by Tommy Gubbin, State of WI, Project Coordinator, 3.) Day Report Center Tour, 4.) Trauma Informed Care as part of the CJCC Strategic Plan RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator announced that a Domestic Violence needs assessment is scheduled for February 9 & 10, 2017 at the Government Center. The 1st day interviews will take place in room 1406 and the 2nd day will be in room 1216. ADJOURN Meeting was adjourned at 12:38 p.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next CJCC Executive Subcommittee meeting is Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 12:00 p.m., Room 1411 - Administrative Conference Room - Government Center. The next CJCC Council meeting is Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 8:00 a.m., County Board Room - Government Center.
