Executive Committee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting January 26, 2017 12:00 PM Minutes were accepted with one correction. Pat Thompson should be listed as excused for the meeting on January 26, 2017. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. CJCC and Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Grant Budgets Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator gave budget updates on the CJCC and Treatment Alternatives & Diversion Budgets. All budget items are within guidelines. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. 2017 Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Grant Project Update Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator reported that he is currently training the new Correctional Offender Management Profiling for Alternatives Sanctions (COMPAS) Assessor. She just received 2 days of training with the Department of Corrections and is learning how to schedule and distribute assessments. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. CJCC Bylaws Subcommittee Recommended Changes There was a motion by Fred Johnson, second by Pat Thompson to amend the CJCC Bylaws to move the current Treatment Court (s) oversight committee under the Subcommittees section of the CJCC Bylaws. In effect the Treatment Court (s) oversight committee will now be a Subcommittee of the CJCC and all agendas and minutes will be posted on the County's MinuteTraq system. The motion passed unanimously. Michael Nieskes brought forward an issue stating he has concerns with CJCC Subcommittees becoming to large and effectively unmanageable. Mr. Nieskes would like this issue brought back to the CJCC Bylaws Subcommittee for review and possible action. Judge Lundell referred this matter to the CJCC Bylaws Subcommittee for review and return to the Executive Subcommittee with a possible recommendation. Agenda Items for March 9, 2017 CJCC Meeting Future agenda items for the CJCC Meeting on Thursday, March 9, 2017; TAD Project Update, Subcommittee Reports, CJCC Website upgrade, Day Report Center Update and tour, Bylaws recommended changes, Domestic Violence Needs Assessment Update, Crisis Intervention Techniques (CIT) Training Update (Dan VanSomeren), and Domestic Violence Assessment (Susan Capparelli). RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 12:35 p.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next CJCC Executive Subcommittee meeting is Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., Government Center - Room 1411 Administration Conference Room. The next CJCC Council meeting is Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 8:00 a.m., Government Center - County Board Room.
