The St. Croix County Community Justice Collaborating Council Meeting was held on September 12,
2013, in the County Board Room of the Government Center in Hudson.
Members Present: Cherise Nielsen, Daryl Standafer, Elizabeth Rohl, Fred Johnson, Judge
Cameron, Jessica Zupfer, John Shilts, Liesl Nelson, Kate Avoles, Lori Meyer, Mark Samelstad, Eric
Johnson, Pam Bellrichard, Pat Thompson, Roger Larson, Judge Needham.
Members Absent: Judge Lundell, Kris Miner, Judge Vlack, Amber Perry
Others Present: Kristi Severson, Lisa Multhauf
1. Call to order. Attendance.
Facilitator, Buck Rhyme, called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
2. Reflection on “Best Take Away” from yesterday
3. Examined priority list from yesterday’s meeting - discussion
4. Ranked top 4 priorities
• Build trust and interdependence with CJCC stakeholders
• Identify priorities and allocate resources to the greatest problem areas in public safety
• Develop community awareness and buy-in about CJCC
• Develop an organizational structure for CJCC
5. Smart goal exercise
6. Group exercise on ideas to accomplish the 4 priorities
7. Create smart goals to address the 4 priorities, totaling 8
.
8. Jessica & Buck will polish goals and publish in a 2-pg format so it is ready for the council at
the next meeting.
Pat Thompson states he is concerned with the goals that are to be accomplished prior to the
next meeting.
9. Discussion of developing the meeting schedule
Decided:
o Length = 90 minutes – 8am - 9:30 am
o Frequency = Bi-monthly
o Day of Month = 4th Thursday
Next meeting: October 24, 2013 (8– 9:30 am)
Future meetings: January 23, 2014 (8-9:30 am)
March 27, 2014 (8-9:30 am)
At March 27th meeting, will evaluate if the meeting schedule is working for everyone.
10. Established work groups to accomplish the priorities decided.
11. Eric Johnson requests the Diversion Coordinator be made an advisory member of the
Council. Agreed. By-Laws will be revised to include.
12. Tad grant discussion as it relates to St. Croix County
13. St Croix county attendance at TAD grant writing meeting
After next Thursday, Sept 26TH. Will report back to Exec Committee (Judge Lundell, Pat
Thompson and Daryl Standafer) to decide what direction to go with the grant opportunity.
14. Closing discussion by all.
