1. Domestic Violence & Family Issues Subcommittee of the Community Justice
Collaborating Council Regular Meeting February 17, 2021 11:30 AM
Minutes of February 17, 2021 are accepted as presented.

PUBLIC COMMENT
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. St. Croix County Domestic Violence Related Arrest Statistics 2016-19
Lieutenant Charles Coleman, St. Croix County Sheriff's Office gave an update on
domestic related arrests from 2016-19. Discussion was held on what type of data should
be collected and how does a group like ours use statistics when attempting to make
policy recommendations.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Review St. Croix County's Workplan for DV/Family Issues
Ryan Shervey, Haley Konsela and Tim Heckmann gave a progress update on their
assigned task of developing a resource guide for domestic related programming and
other issues. This sub workgroup should be able to bring something back to the next
DV/Family Issues Subcommittee meeting in August. Commissioner Heckmann states if
others want to become involved with their group they are always looking for assistance.
Ms. Konsela suggested having a training for staff so they are aware of services for people
involved in a domestic abuse situation. Curt Thomassen states if people have questions
about family issues they can reach out to him at anytime. Judge Vlack states we should
get a contact list sent out to all members and a resource guide would be extremely
helpful to all judges.

3. Discussion on Justice Services Task Force Recommendation
Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator, gave an update on the Justice Services Task Force and
their recommendations to the County Board. Judge Vlack thanks Judge Nordstrand for
his leadership as chair of this Task Force.

4. Introduction of Restorative Services Executive Director- Darren Kirby
Bridget Warren, Director, Program Operations, introduced the new Executive Director for
Restorative Services, Darren Kirby.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Discussion on Date of Next DV/Family Issues Meeting
Due to a judicial education conference in June the next meeting of the DV/Family Issues
Subcommittee will be August 18, 2021, 11:30 a.m., Government Center - County Board
room.
