Domestic Violence & Family Issues Subcommittee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting August 22, 2018 11:30 AM Minutes of August 22, 2018 were accepted as presented. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Domestic Violence Awareness Month - October 2018 Discussion was held about upcoming events in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness month, which is observed throughout October 2018. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Review Domestic Violence Compliance Court Workplan Assignments Judge Vlack passed out a draft flow chart that can be used to funnel cases into the DV Compliance Court track. Discussion was held at each point of the flow chart and suggestions were made by members. Further discussion was held on DV assessments and children/family issues. Judge Vlack directed Mike O'Keefe to draft a summary of comments made during this meeting concerning implementation of the DV Compliance Court. This document will be reviewed at the next meeting in December. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Turningpoint For Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence Updates Alena Taylor, Executive Director for Turningpoint gave an update on funding issues for the shelter from Pierce and St. Croix Counties. Discussion was held on other potential future funding sources. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADJOURN Judge Vlack adjourned the meeting at 12:47 p.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING Wednesday, December 19, 2018, 11:30 a.m., Government Center, room 1216.
