APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Domestic Violence & Family Issues Subcommittee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting January 10, 2017 12:00 PM Minutes from January 10, 2017 were accepted as presented. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Domestic Violence Needs Assessment Wrap-up with Center for Court Innovation - CCI Amber Peterson, Director of State Courts - Office of Court Operations commented that the last two days of interviews with stakeholders was very enlightening and everyone that participated was very passionate about domestic violence issues in the County. Rebecca Thomforde Hauser, Center for Court Innovation, discussed the need for follow up data to complete the assessment for St. Croix County. She stated that she will follow up with their data analyst (Amanda) and let us know what type of data should be included in this report. Ms. Thomforde Hauser discussed the need to address procedural justice issues, treatment for batterers, and best practices. She stated the report will be grounded in Evidence Based Decision Making principles and the timeline for completion is approximately 6 weeks with a potential for a follow up data report. Kate Avoles commented on the number of shelters needed based upon available data as an example of this. Curt Thomassen asked about prevention research and if this will be included in the report. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Michael Nieskes requested canceling the Domestic Violence/Family Issues scheduled for March 23, 2017 and moving it to the 3rd week of April to ensure we have the report from Center for Court Innovation (CCI) to discuss and review. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned by Judge Vlack at 2:40 PM.
