1. Domestic Violence Needs Assessment Wrap-up with Center for Court Innovation - CCI
Amber Peterson, Director of State Courts - Office of Court Operations commented that
the last two days of interviews with stakeholders was very enlightening and everyone that
participated was very passionate about domestic violence issues in the County. Rebecca
Thomforde Hauser, Center for Court Innovation, discussed the need for follow up data to
complete the assessment for St. Croix County. She stated that she will follow up with
their data analyst (Amanda) and let us know what type of data should be included in this
report. Ms. Thomforde Hauser discussed the need to address procedural justice issues,
treatment for batterers, and best practices. She stated the report will be grounded in
Evidence Based Decision Making principles and the timeline for completion is
approximately 6 weeks with a potential for a follow up data report. Kate Avoles
commented on the number of shelters needed based upon available data as an example of
this. Curt Thomassen asked about prevention research and if this will be included in the
report.
