APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting February 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM meeting. There The Council members reviewed the minutes from the February 21, 2018 were none noted. Minutes were approved . RESULT: APPROVED PUBLIC COMMENT Tom Aebly, Glenwood City, Provided comment regarding the state of veggies when they are served. He also asked about alternate food items for specific food allergies. BUSINESS ITEMS 1.Home-Delivered and Congregate Meal Quarterly Statistics st NAC members reviewed the 1 quarter Home-Delivered and Congregate Meal Statistics. Beckman pointed out that the report shows a decrease in Congregate meals overall with a slight decrease in Home-delivered meals. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently 130 participants on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM). There has been an increase in the River Falls and New Richmond areas with a decreased amount in Hudson. Zeuli shared comments provided by the homebound participants regarding meals. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Senior Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations Brunner provided comments that she received from the participants at the New Richmond Senior Center. There was discussion on portion size with fried chicken and other items. Other members shared comments from their sites. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Research and Evaluate Options for the Elderly Nutrition Program A few of the NAC members dined at the St. Croix County Health Center and met with some of the New Horizon Staff. They discussed the meals, menus and other details. Chair Brunner asked the NAC members what they found out at their sites when they asked what their participants would like regarding the future of the Elderly Nutrition Program. Glenwood City does not care how the food comes to the site, just want to food to come to the site. Roberts would like to continue to have meals served at the site as long as the food is good and hot. New Richmond does not want New Horizon, some want two cooking kitchens, and others want one cooking kitchen. Baldwin is very happy with the way things are and with the kitchen in Woodville. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Home-Delivered Meal State Survey Results The NAC members were provided with the results from the 2017 Home-Delivered Meal survey. Overall the results were good, even though the number of surveys returned was low. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Recommendation to the Council on Aging and Disabilities regarding the Elderly Nutrition Program August meeting to be held at the St. Croix County Health Center. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Beckman announced that Amy Roemhild is the new Community Services Coordinator and will start in June. The Nutrition Program Manager in Deer Park will be retiring and interviews will be held next week. Beckman informed the NAC members that the Volunteer Medical Transportation program will be transitioned to the Center for Independent Living in Menomonie. Beckman asked for input on the most recent Volunteer Banquet. They enjoyed the location, meal, entertainment, and door prizes. Beckman announced other upcoming events. ADJOURN Council Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 11:25 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next August 8, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the St. Croix County Health Center, New Richmond.
