CALL TO ORDER
The Nutrition Advisory Council President Brunner called the meeting to order at 10:09 a.m.

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Home-Delivered and Congregate Meal 6 month Statistics
NAC members reviewed the six month Home-Delivered and Congregate Meal Statistics.
Beckman pointed out that the report shows a decrease in Congregate meals overall with
a slight decrease in Home-delivered meals. The report also included the average
donation for the Senior Nutrition Sites. There was discussion regarding the average
donation at some locations below the suggested donation for the meal.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach
Coordinator
Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently 134 participants
on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM). There has been an increase in the New
Richmond areas with a decreased amount in Hudson.
Zeuli shared comments provided by the homebound participants regarding meals.
Market Voucher distribution was in June. Residents in
Glenwood City were to contact WestCAP and those in River Falls were to contact ADRC
of Pierce County.
Zeuli mentioned she is in need of volunteers to help deliver meals in New Richmond and
River Falls. The number of volunteers in Hudson seems to be good at this time.

3. Senior Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations
Brunner provided comments that she received from the participants at the New Richmond
Senior Center. Aebly provided comments that he received from the participants at the
Glenwood City Senior Center. Some of the comments provided were a request for more
mashed potatoes, hot dishes and pies. Others wanted less cottage cheese, no Brussel
sprouts or bread crumbs as a topping. Another comment dealt with having corn and
pineapple on the same day and how that may not be good from some participants.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. New Horizon Foods Presentation by Amy Wimple, RD, LD
Amy introduced herself to the Council and provided a handout to the members. She
explained the services that New Horizon does and how it operates. Through New Horizon
the menus would be planned by New Horizon along with nutrition education and input
from participants and the NAC would be utilized when planning the menu rotation

4. Staff Updates (New Staff and Open Positions) by Randi Hanson
Hanson informed the Council regarding the current openings for Nutrition Program Cook
Aides in Woodville and Deer Park kitchens.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Research and Evaluate Options for the Elderly Nutrition Program
Hanson informed the Council that at some point a recommendation needs to be made
to the Council on Aging and Disabilities. There was discussion on needing a plan in
place to ensure the program continues.

Beckman provided the Council members with flyers for the upcoming Memory Walk.
