Other present virtually was Bob Rohret, HHS Director; Teresa Babich, Public Health Nutrition Manager. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting March 30, 2022 meeting. Chair The Council members reviewed the minutes from the March 30, 2022 Brunner asked if there were any changes, additions or corrections. Minutes were approved at written. RESULT: APPROVED PUBLIC COMMENT Chair Brunner opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment presented. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Senior Nutrition Site Updates Hanson informed the Council that the River Falls site is back up and running for Congregate meals. The Nutrition Program Manager has been out since February 2022, so two subs have been job sharing and doing well. The Roberts Senior Nutrition Site will be transitioning to the Parkside Restaurant on July 5, 2022 as a restaurant model. There will be no marketing until some of the bugs are worked out. The name of the site was changed to Central Senior Center to encompass both communities Hammond and Roberts. It will open at 10 am for coffee with lunch served between 11 am and 1 pm giving diners a choice between 5 items. The intake and donation process works the same as all the other Senior Nutrition Sites, the only exception is there is no need for a reservation. The Nutrition Program Manager for New Richmond just recently returned after being gone for a month. Activities and meals are slowly starting to pick up. Hanson informed the Council of the change at the Woodville Senior Nutrition site and the transition from a cooking kitchen to a catered site. The transition also effected the Baldwin, Glenwood City and temporarily Roberts. The Woodville and Glenwood City sites receive their meals from Hurtgen Catering in Hammond. Both caterers will follow the same menu at Deer Park, New Richmond and Somerset. Ordering of supplies and condiments will be done through Reinhart and delivered to Deer Park. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently between 176 participants on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM). The Somerset area has seen an increase in participants. Zeuli shared some comments from participants. Zeuli mentioned there are still Senior Farmers Market Vouchers available. If folks are interested they need to call the ADRC and ask for her. She also mentioned we are still in need for additional volunteers to assist in delivering meals. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Elderly Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations Hanson reviewed the June 2022 menu. A variety of comments were shared regarding the meals from the previous menu cycle. Discussing followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Teresa Babich, Public Health Dietician, mentioned a Stepping Up Your Nutrition class will be held in Hudson on June 21 and June 28. ADJOURN Council Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 11:13 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Hudson Senior Center.
