Other present virtually were Teresa Babich, Public Health Nutrition Manager and Sara. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting June 1, 2022 meeting. Chair The Council members reviewed the minutes from the March 30, 2022 Brunner asked if there were any changes, additions or corrections. Minutes were approved at written. RESULT: APPROVED PUBLIC COMMENT Chair Brunner opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment presented. BUSINESSITEMS 1.Presentation by Sara Koenig, Elder Nutrition Program Manager/Program & Policy Analyst Bureau for Aging and Disability Resources Sara Koenig, Elder Nutrition Program Manager/Program & Policy Analyst Bureau for Aging and Disability Resources, provided the Council with information regarding the roles and responsibilities of a Nutrition Advisory Council. She explained that the Nutrition Program specifically has a Governing Board due to the size of the program and that input from participants is a requirement. The role of the Nutrition Advisory Council is to advise the Nutrition Director on matter related to nutrition program and access to programming; assist in program planning; advocating related to the nutrition program; promotion of the nutrition program; and evaluating the nutrition program. Discussion followed. RESULT:DISCUSSED 2. Senior Nutrition Site Updates Hanson informed the Council that the transition to Parkside in Hammond is going really well with up to 50 attendees and additional volunteers have been recruited. Hanson informed the Council that state surveys will be sent out shortly for both the Congregate and Home-delivered meal programs. Public Health will be conducting their annual inspections of the Senior Nutrition Sites this month. The Nutrition Program Managers will be participating in the Fall Nutrition Program Training virtually. RESULT:DISCUSSED 3. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currentlybetween 175 participants on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM)with the most growth in New Richmond. Zeuli shared some comments from participants. Zeuli mentioned there are still Senior Farmers Market Vouchers available. If folks are interested they need to call the ADRC and ask for her. She also mentioned we are still in need for additional volunteers to assist in delivering meals. RESULT:DISCUSSED 4.Elderly Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations Hanson informed the Council that menus will be done on a monthly basis instead of quarterly due to supply chain issues and there may be times with substitutions may need to be made. Council member McConaughey inquired about a different rotation of the menu at the Hudson Site. Discussion followed. A comment was made about not enough food when additional people show up at a Senior Nutrition Site. The reservation policy was reviewed participants who call in or reserve their meal 24 hours in advance are the first to be served and those who drop in nd without a reservation, will be served 2. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADJOURN Council Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 11:42 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting will be Wednesday, December 6, 2022 with the location to be determined.
