Other present virtually were Teresa Babich, Public Health Nutrition Manager. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting September 7, 2022 meeting. Chair The Council members reviewed the minutes from the September 7, 2022 Brunner asked if there were any changes, additions or corrections. Minutes were approved at written. RESULT: APPROVED PUBLIC COMMENT Chair Brunner opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment presented. BUSINESSITEMS 1.Senior Nutrition Site Updates Kristin Newton, ADRC Administrator, informed the NACthat the Hudson Senior Center just transitioned to Agave 2 GoGo on December 5. She mentioned that there will be a change in Glenwood City. The City of Glenwood is requesting for rent for space. Working with the City to determine amount and process. Newton mentioned they are continuing to look at the Woodville Nutrition program since the transition in June. Discussion followed. RESULT:DISCUSSED 2. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently 186 participants with 50 in Hudson. There are currently five routes in Hudson and Zeuli is actively seeking additional volunteers. Zeuli informed the NAC that emergency meal kits were provided to Home-Delivered Meal participants who signed up. The kits contain non-perishable items to use when the sites are closed due to weather. Zeuli shared some comments from participants. RESULT:DISCUSSED 3. Elderly Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations The NAC members shared a variety of comments from congregate program participants. Discussion followed. RESULT:DISCUSSED 4.Meal Cost Tool and 2023 Donation Suggestion ADRC Administrator Kristin Newton presented a funding analysis to the NAC members. They reviewed the average cost per meals for both Congregate Nutrition and Home- Delivered Meals, 5-year comparison of attendance and average donation. Newton informed the NAC that, with the increase of food and supplies, it would be beneficial to review the current suggested contribution amount for Congregate Nutrition and Home- Delivered meal programs. Discussion followed. After discussion, it was determined to table to recommendation until the next meeting. NAC members want to review the what the average cost might be for 2022. RESULT: DISCUSSED; TABLED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS 2023 Donation Suggestion ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Amy Roemhild announced that the nomination for Secret Santa program closes on Friday. ADJOURN Council Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 11:19 am DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting will be Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the Woodville Senior Nutrition Site.
