APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting March 31, 2021 meeting. Chair The Council members reviewed the minutes from the March 31, 2021 Brunner asked if there were any changes, additions or corrections. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Council member Croes; seconded by Council member Deja; motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED PUBLIC COMMENT Chair Brunner opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment presented. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently between 230 participants on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM). There has been an increase in a few different communities such as Roberts, Hudson and New Richmond. The Hudson site was able to reinstitute the use of reusable trays for the HDM participants. Zeuli mentioned she is doing good with the number of volunteers in New Richmond, Hudson and River Falls. Volunteers were recruited to help at the Roberts site to deliver on Mondays and Wednesdays. Zeuli mentioned the distribution of Senior Farmers Market Vouchers has started and will go until end of October. Zeuli has started in-person visits again. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Elderly Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations Hanson reviewed the third quarter menus for 2021. A variety of comments were shared regarding the meals from the last menu cycle. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Re-opening of the Senior Nutrition Sites The Council was informed five of the nine Senior Nutrition Sites will be reopening on June rd 23. Other sites will hopefully follow soon after. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Hudson Senior Center Updates Hanson informed the NAC members that the Aging team along with the Hudson Senior Center Board met with Hudson. Approval was received to create an agreement with the church and relocate the Hudson Senior Nutrition Site. Once the Senior Nutrition Site is moved in and settled, discussions will be held regarding when to reopen the site for on-site dining. RESULT:DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Teresa Babich, St. Croix County Public Health Dietitian, announced she will be adding a new program to her Nutrition Education visits called Stepping Up Your Nutrition. This program will start in 2022 and will be offered at the sites, within the community and virtually if necessary. Beckman informed that NAC members that Mike Traynor, Elder Benefit Specialist was recognized during the last Council on Aging and Disabilities meeting for his years of service and congratulate him on his retirement. As of right now, the St. Croix County Fair will be held as usual, however, the Senior Citizens building will not look the same. There will be no popcorn, juice or water sales and the giveaways have been eliminated this year as well. ADJOURN Council Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 10:40 a.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting will be Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Roberts Senior Nutrition Site in Roberts.
