CALL TO ORDER
The Nutrition Advisory Council Chair Maureen Brunner called the meeting to order at 10 am

Other present virtually was Amy Roemhild, ADRC Community Services Coordinator.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting June 6, 2021
meeting. Chair Brunner
The Council members reviewed the minutes from the June 6, 2021
asked if there were any changes, additions or corrections. A motion was made to accept
the minutes by Council member Deja; seconded by Council member Wegge; motion
carried.
RESULT: APPROVED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Chair Brunner opened the floor for public comment.
There was no public comment presented.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator
Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently between 230
participants on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM). There has been an increase
in a few different communities such as Roberts, Hudson and New Richmond.
Zeuli mentioned she is doing good with the number of volunteers in Hudson and River
Falls. Volunteers were recruited to help at the Roberts site to deliver on Tuesdays and
Thursday. Zeuli mentioned she is in need of more volunteers in New Richmond area.

2. Elderly Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations
Hanson reviewed the fourth quarter menus for 2021. A variety of comments were shared
regarding the meals from the last menu cycle. Hanson mentioned she is looking to
revamp the menus for 2022.

3. Senior Nutrition Site Updates
Hanson informed the NAC members that the Senior Nutrition Sites closed on Monday,
September 13 due to positive cases at a couple of sites. Grab-n-Go meals are available
and Home-Delivered meals are provided to those who qualify. The closure is temporary
and we will pivot back as soon as we can.
Hanson informed the NAC members that the cook in Deer Park had been on vacation
Somerset and New Richmond. Hanson had completed interviews for sub cooks prior to
the staff going on vacation, so one of the interviewees will start as the new cook on

The new building in Glenwood City is coming along quickly and looks great.
The Hudson Senior Center transition went well.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Teresa Babich, St. Croix County Public Health Dietitian, suggested an introduction to a new
program called Stepping Up Your Nutrition she will be adding to her Nutrition Education visits.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Beckman informed that NAC members the DayAway program has remained open during this
time and transportation requests are still being provided.

The Nutrition Program staff will be participating in a training on November 3.
Beckman informed the NAC members of an Elder Abuse conference that was held on Tuesday,

September 14 in Hudson. The conference was recorded and will replay on Hudson Public
Access Channel.
Beckman informed the NAC members there will be two public hearings for the 2022-2024
Aging Unit Plan for folks to provide feedback and suggestions to the goals within the plan.

The date of the next meeting will be Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the St. Croix
County Services Center in New Richmond.
